Start Measuring Os Soil Bank Acreage Acreage Reporters Working In County Acreage reporters have started visiting Adams county farms to determine compliance with acreage allotments and soil bank agreements and contracts, Victor Bleeke. chairman of the county agricultural stabiliation and conservatiow* committee, announced toda*. Farmers are asked to assist the reporter when he visits their farms. “By accompanying the reporter during his visit, showing him the crops and the designated reserve acreage on the farm, the farm operator can help our reporters to dp a more thorough and satisfactory job of measuring,” the chairman said. “After the inspection is made, farmers will' be asked to sign a certificate. Before signing, however, they are urged to review the report carefully, to insure that it is accurate and includes all the required crop acreages.” All farms with allotments, acreage reserve agreements, and conservation reserve contracts will be visited and necessary measurements made, Bleeke said. Where the farm is not in compliance with the allotment or the soil bank agreement or contract, a notice will be sent to the farm operator, informing him about the acreage which must be disposed of in order to bring the farm into compliance. Disposal date was May 15 for crops seeded last fall and June 15 for spring-seeded crops. Since methods for disposing of excess acreages are different for farms having wheat acreage allotments only and for farms having| soil bank agreements or contracts, growers are urged to get in touch with the county ASC office for detailed information on the method applicable to the individual case.
