Duane Carter, director of competition for the United States Auto Club, announced the team. In addition, Carter said two roadsters would be shipped to Monza for use by two French road-racing aces, Jean Behra and Maurice Trintignant. One of the cars is the same one Bryan drove to victory in last year’s Monza event. A car in which Argentine world champion Juan Fangio passed his driver's test at the Indianapolis Speedway last month also will be shipped to Italy, according to Carter. Speculation was that Fangio would pilot the racer in the European version of the Speedway “500.” In addition to Bryan, who will drive the same car in which he won the Speedway Memoria Day classic, other drivers named were
Johnny Thomson, Jim Rathmann, Ray Crawford. Troy Ruttman, Bob Veith, Eddie Sachs. Rodger Ward, Don Freeland and Jimmy Reece. The drivers will fly to Monza June 23 from New York. Meanwhile, George Salih, awner and chief mechanic of the car in which Bryan roared to victory in the “500" here last Friday, said the Arizona cowboy will make no attempt to defend his national driving title. Bryan has won the championship three out of the last four years, but Salih said there is “not much percentage” in him trying to win more money. He said Bryan would not compete in championship dirt track races but might run in the 200-miler at Mi - waukee in August.

Dodgers Apparently Win Stadium Vote LOS ANGELES UPD- Walter OMalley, abviously delighted that his almost orphaned Dodgers apparently have found a permanent home, outlined his plans today for the start of work July 6 on a new 12 million dollar stadium in Chavez Ravine. While all the votes still had not been counted in Tuesday's referendum election, the proposal giving the Dodgers land in Chavez Ravine for a new baseball park seemingly was approved. The’ referendum favored the Dodgers and their stadium by more than 16,000 votes when the tabulators recessed Wednesday night. There were predictions the margin would increase to some 25.000 votes. While there were still legal stumbling blocks — including a pending taxpayer’s suit—O’Malley was ready to go ahead with plans for immediate construction of the 52,000 seat stadium so the Dodgers can play there by July of neirt year. The taxpayer’s suit was filed bv Atty. Phil Silver on behalf of Louis Kirschbaum, a private citizen, and a temporary order still restrains the city from • official transfer of the land to the Dodgers. While city attorneys watched the progress of the suit action and prepared a legal counterattack, there was still the prospect of delaying action on the part of
