ONE CLASS ENTERTAINS ANOTHER TUESDAY NIGHT Tuesday evening the Builders class of the Trinity Evangelical United Brethren church entertained the Kum Dubble class at the Berne park. The Rev. Joseph E. Penrod offered the prayer before the chicken pot luck supper which was attended by approximately 110 mem bers and their families. two classes over a period of one quarter and had treated the winners with the supper. After the supper, the group played several games which led to the conclusion of the evening. FIFTEEN MEMBERS ATTEND SESSION Fifteen members of the V. F. W. Ladies auxiliary 6236 met Monday evening at the post home. During the session, general orders were read on the convention to be held the last of June along with a letter from the post commander, Stan Kling, which thanked the ladies for their help selling poppies. Mrs. Clarence Hook was presented the door prize prior to the serving of refreshments by Mrs. Kenneth Birch. Following the meeting, games were played. OUT OF TOWN LADIES TO BE FLOWER SHOW JUDGE Judges for the annual flower show bake sale of the Decatur and Rose Garden clubs will include Mrs. Gladys Ammon, Mrs. Simpson Stowe, and Mrs. Herman Holm of Muncie. A luncheon for these judges will be held at the Fairway, Saturday noon. Reservations may be obtained by calling Mr. Henry Heller o rMrs. Gerald Durkin. The flower show sponsored by the two clubs will be held at the library Saturday afternoon and evening. The hours will expend from 1:30 o’clock until 8:30 o'clock that night. The general chairmen for the event are Mrs. Durkin, Mrs. Paul Daniels, and Mrs. William Kohls. In charge of securing the judges are the Mesdames N. A. Bixler, Henry Heller, Ralph E. Roop, and Gerald Durkin. Members of the Adams county chorus will leave Monday morning at 6 o'clock from the Decatur bus station for Purdue. The next rehearsal will be held Monday evening, July 1, at Monroe.
INITIATION HIGH ' LIGHT OF PICNIC A rough initiation was the main attraction of the annual Junior Women’s club's picnic held Monday evening at the Hanna-Nutt-man park. Nine of the new members, special guests for the evening initiated were legacy from the Junipr Arts department. They include the Misses Barbara Brunnegraff, Carolyn Drake, Karen Jefferies, Gretchen Lankenau, Judy Smith, Janice Voshell, Judy Lane and Mrs. Jim Engle. Other women to be taken into the group next fall are the Mesdames Robert Settler, Harold Clinkenbeard, Larry Hutker and Richard Johnson. A business session was held prior to the picnic supper and initiation. During that period a petition was signed by everyone present to send to Washington, D. C. The federated women of Indiana are trying to keep the Indiana State Dunes as a national park. Saturday, June 21, the members of the club will meet again at the Youth and Community center to finish their job of housecleaning. Stone Company of Linn Grove has been awarded a contract for the repair and resurfacing of streets in Bluffton by the Bluffton city council. Bluffton police chief Alva Smith reported that 1.800 automobiles were checked during the May safety campaign. Not tomorrow, nor the day after, nor the year to come, but now is all we have.—Crane.

Named Co-Chairmen Os Hope Chest Drive Multiple Sclerosis Co-Chairmen Named Ms. Vernon Hurst and Mrs. Bert Haley are co-chairmen of the multiple sclerosis hope chest campaign in Adams county, according to Mrs. Ronald M. Hazen of Indianapolis, campaign chairman for the Indiana chapter of the National multiple sclerosis society. "I never dreamed it could happen to me” expresses the shock of many persons in Adams county who have been stricken by MS, or multiple sclerosis. MS is a crippling disease which destroys the nervous system and generally attacks young adults between the ages of 20 and 40. Once it comes it usually stays for life, for as yet neither the cause nor the cure for the disease is known. Victims pin their hope on the extensive research program sponsored by the national society. Besides supporting the national research program, the Indiana chaptersp onsors an MS clinic at the Indiana University Medical Center, where patients can come for Examination, evaluation, and pos-

Shirley Ploughe To Graduate Sunday INDIANAPOLIS — Shirley Jean Ploughe of Decatur, will receive a bachelor of arts degree, cum laude, at Indiana Central College’s 53rd annual commencement exercises Sunday in the school’s new Utemillion Academic Hall. R. 2, Decatur, 1959 Presbyterian Meet At Indianapolis PITTSBURGH <UPI) — Indianapolis was selected Wednesday as the site for the 1959 General Assembly of the newly formed United Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. The site was chosen at the final session of the church’s, assembly, during which two Presbyterian branches were merged and Dr. Eugene Carson Blake of Pasadena, Calif., elected stated clerk.
