Commodores Divide Honors With Anderson The Decatur Commodores and St. Mary’s of Anderson divided honors in a Central Indiana Catholic Conference double header at Worthman field in this city Tuesday afternoon. The Commodores bunched their hits to good effect to take the opener, 4-1, as Dave Kable limited the Gaels to only one hit. But Anderson hopped on Kable, attempting the iron man stunt, for three runs in the first inning and went on to take the nightcap, 4-3. Decatur wrapped up the opener in the first inning, scoring three runs on hits by O’Campo, Kable, J. Omlor and T. Gross, plus Beal’s sacrifice. O’Campo and Gross had triples in this frame. Anderson scored its only run in the third on Broderick’s double and two passed balls. Decatur got this run back in the same inning on Kable’s home run. St. Mary’s first four batters in the second game hit safely and scored three runs before Reed relieved Kable and retired the side. The Commodores trimmed this margin by scoring twice in the same inning on a hit batsman and two Anderson errors. Anderson scored what proved to be the wanning run in the third on two hits and a passed ball. The Commodores tallied their final run in the 1 fourth on hits by Kable and S. Omlor. but the rally died with two men on base. FIRST GAME Anderson AB R H E Broderick, ss 3 110 M. Williams, If 3 0 0 0 B. Williams, 2b 2 0 0 0 D. Eckstein, p, cf 3 0 0 0 B.
