Surviving are his wife, Hermina: three sons, Roger of Rosewell, N. Y., Harry of Berne, and Stanley of Winona Lake; two daughters, Mrs, John Bauman of Rosewell,

New 19-Piece Dance Band Is Organized Make First Public Appearance Friday A new 19-piece dance orchestra, called the Tempos, has ' been formed in the Decatur area under j the sponsorship of the Decatur Mu-1 sic House and Local 607 of the American Federation of Music-. ians. The first publto appearance of the band t»will be made Friday j night at the D-club dance in the Decatur Youth and Community l Center. The purpose of the Tempos is two-fold. It will be a musical workshop for young musicians in the area interested in playing dance , music. In the past there has been no outlet or opportunity for the . school musicians to further their knowledge in this field. The Tempos will include professional play--1 ers with more knowledge and practice. There are’ five area band directors working with the group, all of whom have had experience with large dance bands in the past. Jim Webb, president of Local 607. American Federation of Musicians, and manager of the Decatur Music House, is the director of the group. Autos Collide At Street Intersection Cars driven by Patsy J. Urick. 21. route 6, Decatur, and Nellie Idlewine, 43, Decatur, collided Sunday at 8:45 p.m. at the intersection, of Madison and 10th streets. The Urick car was travelling east on Madison and the Idlewine auto was proceding south on 10th when they collided at the intersection. Residents of Markle favor the merger. and rural residents oppose it. Voters' Assembly 01 Church Meets Here Activities Planned By Lutheran Church The April quarterly meeting of the Zion Lutheran voters’ assembly was held Sunday afternoon at the church. The congregation’s stewardship council will conduct several every member visitations during the year with various emphases; the congregation will participate in a circuit family life workshop May 4, and a new committee will study possible constitution and by-law changes. The Rev. Edgar P. Schmidt conducted the opening devotion and Arnold Conrad, the congregation's president, presided. Miss Evelyn Nussbaum will return again next year as teacher of grades one and two. The board of parish education is still attempting to secure another teacher for grade three. Application has been made to synod’s board of assignment which will meet soon to asign the 1958 graduates of synod’s various normal schools. Fred Meier, will serve as Sunday school superintendent to replace William Gernard, who is away from the city on an army assignment. The Bultemeier Construction company will build a new wall and install lockers in the parish hall to replace a folding door to prepare for the new classroom which will be needed this fall. The Rev. He also mentioned that the campus enrollment was at an all time high. Dale Schott will continue as financial secretary during the year, to fill a vacancy created by a resignation. Phil Sauer, planning commission chairman, said his committee hopes to acquire several pieces of property soon to make room for the congregation's long term expansion plans.
