Meeting Monday On Duties Os Citizens Meeting Scheduled At Adams Central "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing,*' is the theme of the open meeting on "the duties and rights of a citizen” Monday evening at 7:30 o’clock at the Adams Central school. "What is my job in promoting better government, preventing traffic accidents, and offering better education to my children?” these are some of the questions which the panel will try to help answer at the j eting Monday night. Boy Slightly Hurt When Hit By Auto Mark Jacobs, 6, Decatur, was struck by an automobile at the intersection of Monroe and 10th streets Thursday at 11:15 a. m. The young Jacobs boy dashed in front of a car driven by Vincent A. Faurote, 24, Decatur, and Faurote could not avoid hitting the youth. Faurote took the boy immediately to a doctor where the boy was treated for a bruised I leg.
Five Persons Hurl As Truck Hits Bus School Bus Hit Near Fort Wayne Thursday t FORT WAYNE (UP)-Five persons, including three children, were injured late Thursday when a big truck rammed into the rear of a school bus stopped along U.S. 27 a mile south of here. In serious condition in Lutheran Hospital was Jonathan M. Andrews, 35, spencer, driver of the truck. Treated at me hospital and later released were Paul F. Schoenemann, 26, the bus driver, and Gary Houston, 11, his sister, Mar- ■ gsfret, 13, and Sandra Scott, 11, I all passengers in the bus. All are from the Fort Wayne area. Schoenemann told state police ' he had pulled part way off the I dual-lane road to let off passengers on his last stop. He said his rear lights were flashing and the ■‘stop'* arm was out Schoenemann said he started to open the bus door when he noticed in the rear view mirror the large truck bearing down on him. He said he jumped behind the wheel and attempted to pull the bus on the berm, but the truck rammed into him before he could get out of its way. Th impact knocked the bus on its side- The children climbed out an emergency door. The gas tank on the truck was ruptured in the collision and gasoline spilled onto the highway. Firemen flushed the highway to rid it of the gasoline. State police said the truck ■ skidded 125 feet before it smashed into the bus. They said Andrews was in a state of shock and could not explain the cause of the collision. .X LATE FILINGS (Continued from page one) 76 Republican names on the ballots throughout the county, although there will not be that mkny on any one ballot. Democrats have 13 delegate candidates and 41 precinct committeeman candidates, and th& Republicans have 15 and 40, respectively. Floyd B. Hunter, of Decatur, filed for justice of the peace in Washington township, and Will Winnes filed for Washington township assessor both on the Democratic ticket the "only persons filing in any township for these jobs. Last candidate known to have filed was F. J. “Fat” Schmitt, who filed for township trustee of Washington township at 10 p.m. with clerk Richard D. Lewton who kept his office open to that hour. Last minute filers included quite a few, many of them making races of filing ticket roles. Candidates for district offices, or even for county offices, may have mailed in declarations of candidacy, and if they are received today or later, postmarked before midnight, March 27, they will be accepted and certified.

Allen County Agent Resigns Position FORT WAYNE (IB — C. V. Kimmell, Allen county agricultural agent for 22 years, has resigned to become agricultural extension adviser to the government of Turkey. Confirmation Riles At Reformed Church Special Services On Sunday Morning A class of ten young people will 1 be received into full membership of the church through the rite of confirmation in the 10 a.m. Palm Sunday service in the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church. The pastor, the Rev. William C. Feller, will be in charge of the service and his sermon for the morning will be based on the theme: "Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life.*' Members of the confirmation class are Donald Edward Aeschliman, Linda Lon Aeschllman, Janeen Ann Augsburger, Diana Sue Cable, Larry Erman Johnson, joyephr Hunter McNerney, Ronald Wayne Owens, Donna Earleen Shoaf, Kathleen Ann Shoaf, and Judy Kay Tutewiler. In preparation for confirmation and church membership these young people have completed a two-year course of instruction in the Bible, church history and doctrine under the leadership of the pastor. Last Wednesday evening the members of the class were presented to the official board of the church, in the presence of their parents and other interested friends and relatives, at which time they reviewed some of the teachings which they had learned during their course of study.
In the service Sunday morning, the young people will publicly profess their faith in Christ as Lord and Saviour and through the laying on of hands and the giving of the right hand of fellowship will be received into full membership of the church. The class has chosen, "Living l for Jesus,’’ as the class hymn. The service will open with the , prelude, "Hosanna” by Granier, with Mrs. J. Fred Fruchte at the organ. Then will follow the processional of. the senior and youth choirs, the class and the pastor. Both choirs will furnish special music. The youth choir wil Ising, “The Psalms” by Faure, with Mrs. , Robert Houk as accompanist. The senior choir will sing, "Who Is He That Cometh?” by Van Woert. Both choirs are under the direction of Harold Cox. Other organ numbers will include, "My Faith Looks Up To Thee’ by Masor, arranged by Thompson, for the offertory, and “With Waving Palms” by Van Woert, for the postlude. All members of the church are urged to be present, and an invitation is extended to all who are without a church home in this community to worship in this service.
