Rules Death Os Man Due To Suffocation FRANKLIN W — Johnson County Coroner Walker Maguire ruled Monday the death Sunday of Rouzee Zimmerman, 31, Franklin, was caused by suffocation. Firemen were summoned to the Zimmerman home Sunday by neighbors who saw smoke pouring from his home. His body was found on the kitchen floor. Firemen blamed a cigarette for the blaze, which did little damage to the home. Preble Township Farm Bureau Meets The Preble township Farm Bureau met recently at the Friedheim Lutheran school, with 30 members present. The Rev, A. A. Fenner gave the devotions and Mrs. Irwin Worthman read the secretarytreasurer's report. The 1958 budget, as presented by Arthur Worth, chaiman, was accepted, and the group voted for another’ joint meeting with Root and Union township in April. The group also voted to pay the meal tickets for two 4-H junior leaders at the leadership training school. A motion picture on ‘‘Planing a 4-H tour” was shown and the meeting adjourned by repeatning the Lord’s Prayer. Two Elderly Men Die In Hotel Fire Two Others Injured In Illinois Fire KEWANEE, 111. W — Two elderly men were killed today in a fire that gutted the Earle Hotel Annex before dawn. Two others were injured. The victims were identified as Tom McNamara, about 80 and Lee Marsh, about 70, both residents of the building. The injured men who lived in the hotel were identified as Kenneth Hampton, taken to St. Francis Hospital and George Slatter, taken to Kewanee Public Hospital Neither was reported in critical condition. The night clerk at the hotel, Mrs. Freda Bennett, said she discovered the fire while making a check about midnight. She said the fire started in the back of the H & S tavern on the main floor of [ the three-story brick building. > Mrs. Bennett alerted residents > before calling the fire : but said she did not remember ■ calling the two men. Fire departments from Toulon, Neponset, Galva and Geneseo responded to a call for help. Units as far as Peoria, 75 miles away, were alerted. The fire was brought under con- • trol about 4:30 a.m. after being 1 confined to the building located • across the city hall. Four Fined Here On Traffic Violalions Others Scheduled For Justice Court Neil Richard Hesher, 26, Decatur, entered a plea of guilty to a charge of speeding 45 miles per hour in a posted 30-mile zohe and paid a fine of $1 and costs, totaling $16.75, to the justice of the peace court recently. He was arrested by the city police on Third street. Chester D. Brickley, route 4, Huntington, paid a fine of $5 and costs, totaling $20.75, in the justice of the peace court on a charge of reckless driving and running a red light at the intersection of Fifth and Monroe streets. The arrest was made by trooper Gene Rash. Gary Howard Robinson. 16, Decatur, appeared in the justice of ' the peace court and entered a t plea of guilty to a charge of disregarding a stop sign at the inter- . section of the Piqua road and county road 32. He paid a fine of $1 and costs, totaling $16.75. He was arrested by the sheriff’s department. ’ John W.
