and was sthick in the rear by the Hackman auto, which was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision. Damaged was estimated at $325 to the Hackman car and $125 to the Hullinger auto. • ■

: Student Confesses ' To Knifing Attacks Part-Time Student Is Held At Chicago CHICAGO (UPI A part-time student at Northwestern University, wounded Wednesday in a i police . chase, today faced ques-; tioning in the bizarre murders of i three teen-age girls. | Authorities said Barry Z Cook, 123, a construotion worker, confessed to police that he was re-1 j sponsible for “about six" knifings ' I and assaults on women. Cook was hospitalized at Edgewater Hospital with three bullet wounds 5 suffered when he tried to outrun four detectives. Two of the four detectives who, | seized Cook, Joseph Ponicki and I John Tyndall, have been conductj ing a full-time investigation into | the torso slaying last August of Judith Mae Anderson. Judith Mae’s body was hacked apart and put in two oil drums which later were found floating in Lake Michigan, Cook also faced questioning in the Grimes sisters murders in December, 1956 The nude bodies of Barbara. 15, and Patricia, 13, were found dumped on a lonely road on the outskirts of Chicago almost a month iafer.
