MISS FARLOW TO WED PHILIP BOLLINGER Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Farlow of Geneva have announced the en- , <a gement of their daughter. Norene May, to Philip P. Bollinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bollinger, also of Geneva. Miss Farlow is an employee of the Lincoln National Life Insurance Company, Fort Wayne, and her fiance is employed by Stucky’s Gas and Appliance, Geneva. The couple have set no date for the wedding. FRIDAY NIGHT SHOWER HONORS MRS. MATTOX A stork shower was given for Mrs. Vaughn Mattox, Friday night by Mrs. Clarence Dick and Mrs. Chester Smith, at the Smith home. Upon her arrival, the guest of honor was presented with a corsage of pink carnations in keeping with the pink and blue color scheme throughout the enters taining rooms. Mrs. Laurel Mattox, Mrs. Austin Merriman, Mrs. Louis Mattox, Miss Sharon Mattox and Miss Edith Mattox won the prizes, which they presented to the guest of honor. Refreshments were served after Mrs. Mattax opened her many gifts. DECATUR STUDENTS ARE NAMED CLUB OFFICERS Miss Jean Potts and Lester Myers have recently been elected vice president and treasurer respectively for the newly formed French club of Indiana Central —College. Miss Potts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Potts. 1319 W. Madison, was graduated from the Decatur high school. Also a graduate of Decatur high school, Myers is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Myers, 1009 Master Drive. Both are sophomores at Indiana Central.

RUST-MAGLEY TO WED MARCH 15 1 , A March 15 wedding at the First Methodist church , Albany, is ibeing planned by Miss Judith Anne Rust and Thomas R. Wagley' Miss Rust is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edison Rust, Albany, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Wagley, Geneva, are the parents of her fiance. The bride-elect is a graduate of Albany high school and attended Ball State Teachers College. She is a member of Delta Epsilon chapter of Tri Kappa sorority and is employed by the Muncie Gear. Her fiance is a student at Ball State Teachers College. MRS. CLAIR CARVER OPENS CLUB MEETING Mrs. Clair Carver, vice president, opened the Thursday evening meeting of the Friendships Village Home Economics club of Blue Creek township, which was held at the Kimsey school, by having the ‘group repeat the creed. For devotions, Mrs. Albert Tinkham read the 23rd Psalm, after which Miss Donelda Marckel led the group in singing “Onward Christian Soldiers.” “Be Calorie Wise” was the lesson given by Mrs. Ivan Fox and Mrs. Lester Sipe ..followed, by reading the minutes of the last meeting, The last lesson of the evening was then presented by Mrs, Oscar Young, who spoke on “Home Heating Hazards.” During the social hour, the hostesses, Mrs. Rallie Raudenbush, Mrs. Merle Foor, Mrs. Paul Wold and Mrs. Ray McMichael, served sandwiches and coffee to the members. ' ' w■ .. ' > — ,-j DEMONSTRATION CHORUS WILL MAKE TRIP TO OREGON The Adams county demonstra-j tion chorus met Monday evening i in Geneva for regular rehearsal, with Mrs. Stuart Brightwell directing. The chorus will be one of the county choruses of Indiana to go on a tour in June to sing at the “Rose Festival” in Portland, Oregon. Reservations must be made soon. An invitation has ! been extended to non-members to join the tour and anyone interested may contact a member of the chorus for information. The next rehearsal of the chorus will be in two weeks at Monroe. Members of the Women of the Moose will have a regular meeting Thursday at the Moose home, followed by a birthday anniversary party. The officers’ meeting will begin at 7:30 o’clock and at 8 o’clock the members are scheduled to meet.

Myers f A Lenten family night carry-in supper will be held at the First Presbyterian church in Decatur Wednesday evening. Following the supper. Miss Alice Maloney, east central area secretary for the department of women’s work of the Presbyterian board of national missions, will speak to the women of the church. Miss Maloney, from her Chicago office, links 2,551 local Presbyterian women’s organizations in a 15-state area to the national missions program which includes more than 3.600 projects in the 48 states, Alaska, and the West Indes. Miss Maloney, a graduate of Hunter College in New York City, completed her master’s degree and residence work toward a doctor’s degree at Columbia University. She headed the church’s work among Indians for nine years before going to the Chicago office in 1956 Also following the supper, the Rev. Thomas I. Myers, directormanager of the Ranchmen’s camp meetings and missionary in Lordsburg, N. M., will speak to the men of the church. He is a native of Indiana and a graduate of Evansville College and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and entered the ministry after several years of business experience. Following graduation, he was pastor of the Presbyterian church at Cynthiana, and after five years entered national missions work under the Presbyterian board’s department of Sunday school missions and mobile ministries, moving to Cortez, Colo.

Lenlen Services At Monroe Methodist ■' Plan Six Services For Lenten Series The Monroe Methodist church has announced its special Lenten service schedule for this year. The Lenten series will include six services. Two of the services will be Sunday evenings and four of the services will be Wednesday evenings. Sunday evening, March 2, the Wesley Players of Fort Wayne will present the special Lenten play, “Into Thy Kingdom,” at 7:30 p.m. The Wesley Players are comprised of a group of dedicated laymen who are using their talents presenting religious drama. Sunday evening, March 23, the Menno-Singers' of Goshen, will present a sacred concert in the Monroe church at 7:30 p.m. This group of 30 men are. from several different denominations. They present a program of sacred and secular music. The four Wednesday night services will be at 7:45 p.m., and each service will feature special music by one of the church choirs and a message by a guest minister. The special speakers will be: March 5. the Rev. James Babbitt, pastor of the St. Joseph Methodist church of Fort Wayne; March 12, the Rev. William Meddock, pastor of the Monroeville Methodist church; March 19, the Rev. Darrell Taggart, pastor of the Churubusco Methodist church; March 26. the Rev. Mark Blaising, pastor of the Wallen Methodist church of Fort Wayne. The public is invited to share in those special Lenten services. Eichhorn Files Candidacy Among candidates filing for political offices with the secretary of state at Indianapolis today was Von A. Eichhorn, of Uniondale. Eichhorn, the incumbent, filed for the Democratic nomination as joint senator from Adams, Blackford and Wells counties. He had previously announced his candidacy.

Two Accidents Are Investigated Monday Cars driven by Herman H. Linnemeier, 61, Decatur, and Charles Luhman, 19, Decatur, were involved in a collision Monday in the 200 block of Monroe street. The accident, which occurred at 11:20 a. m., was Investigated by the city police who found, that the Linnemeier car had pulled away from the curb and struck the Luhman vehicle in the rear, causing $lO damage to the Linnemeier car and $25 to the Luhman auto. 3:50 p. m. Monday. Cars driven by Morris Colter, 17, route 5. Decatur, and Charles N. McCullough, 29, route 6, Decatur, collided as the Colter vehicle tnade a left turn in front of the McCullough car as McCullough was attempting to pass. Patty Johnson, 14, route 5, Decatur, and Mary Geisler, 15, route 6, Decatur, suffered bruises and cuts and were treated at the Adams county memorial hospital. Morris Colter suffered bruises to the left knee, right shoulder and nose. Damage was estimated at S2OO to the McCullough car and sls to the Colter auto.
