Ejg. ,ly Adams county event, BASKETBAWL has annually put down in print his predictions on the outcome of every game in the tourney. Prior to 1940, the Adams county teams were divided, Decatur and Monmouth playing in the Fort Wayne sectional, with the other county teams competing in the Bluffton tourney. Only twice in that considerable span of years has BASKETBAWL hit every game correctly, although several tourney champions have been forecast. So here goes with another series of guesses: ——oOo^"" .PLEASANT MILLS-COMMODORES — These teams met twice during the regular season, with the Commodores winning both 'games handily. It’s a vote for COMMODORES. —oOo-— HARTFORD-ADAMS CENTRAL—The defending champions had difficulty handling the Greyhounds on the Hartford floor just a month ago, winning by only five points, but Adams Central, plagued all season by misfortune, suffered the loss of another regular through a farm accident only a short time ago, and appears even further weakened. So, it’s a vote for the chainpion GORILLAS. - 1 000 MONMOUTH-GENEVA—This might be a good 'one. These teams met? at Oeneva just prior to the county tourney, With the Cardinals marking up a sevenpoint triumph. Playing on a neutral floor, this might be a jim-dandy. It’s a hesitant vote for the CARDINALS. YELLOW JACKETS-BERNE—These old rivals met early in the season at the Decatur gym, with the Yellow Jackets eking out a one-point victory. Fans well remember Berne’s double-overtime win over the Jackets in-lhe 19q7 meet, and the sting of that loss may fire up the Jackets more than-Berne. It’s a vote for the YELLOW JACKETS. the county tourney, the Gorillas thrashed the Commodores on the Hartford court, but the ■ Commodores bounced back the next week to whip the Gorillas in the championship game of the county tourney. Can’t string with the champions this time. It’s a vote for the COMMODORES. GENEVA - YELLOW JACKETS — The Jackets didn’t have too much trouble with the Cardinals in an early season game at the Decatur gym, but may have a tpugher foe on the neutral Adams Central floor. However, it’s still, a vote for the YELLOW JACKETS. 000 COMMODORES - YELLOW JACKETS — The two Decatur teams do not tangle in regular season play. The Comrndores have the better season record, but the Yellow Jackets play a tougher schedule. If this city battle develops for the championship encounter, it could be a real thriller. -The Commodores will have a slight advantage in size, but the Jackets may throw' up a tougher defense. In two previous meetings of the two Decatur teams in sectional play, both were terrific ball games, and this might be another. It’s a vote for the YELLOW JACKETS. ■ —oOo— There are BASKETBAWL’S guesses on the sectional. Regardless of who wins, here’s hoping for a fine tourney all the way, with the best of sportsmanship among players and fans alike. See vou at ADAMS
