COMBINED CHAPTERS ENTERTAIN XI RHO Tuesday at the Youth and Community Center, the combined chapters of the Beta Sigma Phi, the Epsilon Sigma, the Xi Alpha lota, the Delta Lamba and the Xi 'Alpha Xi, Entertained the Xf Rho chapters of Fort Wayne with a party. Appropriate decorations of red hearts and red candles trimmed the serving table. Floating red carnations and red candles completed the effect. -I— During the luncheon, music was played in the backgijound and following the luncheon, indoor golf • was played. High winners were Miss Maxine Mariotte, Fort Way- 1 ne; and Mrs. William Howell, Decatur. The low winners wereJMiss Roberta Steck, Fort Wayne; and Mrs, Joe Morris, Decatur. BLAS MENDEZ GIVES BABY SHOWER Mrs. Blas Mendez recently entertained at her home with a sur- 1 prise baby shower in honor of her 1 sister. Mrs. Robert Mendez. 1 On the arrival of the honored guest < the hostess presented her with a corsage of pink gladioli. A series of written games, in- ‘ eluding bingo, were played ’ throughout the shower. The prizes 1 were won by Miss Mary Hodle. Miss Neoma Wenger, Miss Esther Klinetol. Mrs. Brice Hower, Miss Phylis Hodle. Who in turn pres- 1 ented them to the guest of honor. A large stork, with the traditional bundle in its beak, was the centerpiece for the decorated table upon which the gifts were placed. After the opening of gifts, refershments were served by the hostesss. Following the business meeting, games were played." The door prize was given to Mrs. Teeple, after which the hostess srved refreshments. “Food for Thought’’ is the name of the film to be shown Sunday evening at 7 o’clock at the Nuttman Avenue United Brethren church. The service is sponsored jontly by the Women's Christian Temperence Union and the Loyal Temperance Legion in honor of the late Frances E. Willard. The public is inyited. Thursday at 1:30 o’clock, the Pleasant Mills Methodist Women’s Society of Christian Service will meet at the home of Mrs. John Bailey. Members of the Loyal Daughters class of the Bethany Evangelical United Brethren church are asked to note that the regular clgss has been postponed from the 18th to the 25th. Mrs. Ervin Fuelling will entertain the Merry Matron Home Demonstration club Tuesday evening at 7:30 o’clock. The Adams county chorus district rehearsal will be held in Hartford City Wednesday at the Evangelical United Brethren church at 1:30 o’clock. Robert Shook, leader of the Greenbrier Sing Bee, invites everyone to attend the bee, which will be held Sunday at 2 o’clock in the Greenbrier church. Miss Virginia Gerke The Rev. F. W. Droegemueller will officiate at the May 4 marriage of Miss Virginia Gerke to Robert James Mclntosh. The ceremony will be read at 6:30 o’clock Sunday evening in the St. Peter's Lutheran church near Decatur. The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Gerke of route 3, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph W. Mclntosh of Monroeville are the parents of her fiance. A graduate of Monmouth high school, Miss Gerke is employed by the Lincoln National Life Insurance Co. in Fort Wayne. Railroad Brakeman Is Killed By Fall INDIANAPOLIS (IP — James A.
