Meeting On Disease Scheduled Sunday An .informative meeting'on the little-known condition, myasthenia gravis, a muscular disease, will be held in the YMCA, Fort Wayne, Sunday at 3 p.m. Al that time a complete color and sound teaching film on M-G will be shown. This film, "The treatment, diagnosis, and management of myasthenia gravis," is an. exceptional descriptive story for lay persons. Recent developments relating to the condition as well as the activities of the national foundation .will be discussed. This meeting will give all victims a chance to exchange experiences with each other. All interested persons in the tri-state area are invited. Dr. John Phillips of the Caylor-Nickel clinic Bluffton, will discuss "Everyday living with myasthenia gravis.” Science And Math Teaching In Slate Survey Praised By State Superintendent INDIANAPOLIS (IP — Wilbur Young, State Superintendent of Public Instruction, said today the Indiana study of science and mathematics teaching in state high schools "continues to exceed expectation." "We did not expect to find 513 schools offering trigonometry out of a total possible of 709high schools'Young said. "698 are offering first year algebra. 680 schools areoffering plane geometry and 622 second year algebra and 474 are offering solid geometry." w But Young said the survey shows "we are weak in calculus." He said onjy 20 high schools are offering calculus at the present time. Young said only nine of the 709 schools surveyed failed to have! courses in biology and 607 offered’] j physics. Figures also showed that I 589 schools offered chemistry, but the total might be misleading since many small high schools offered chemistry one year and physics the next. College Students Ordered Expelled Six St Joseph's Students Expelled l . RENSSELAER W — Six St. Jos-j eph’s College students five of i them seniors who had expected to | be graduated next June — were ex- : pelled permanently Tuesday for raiding a Purdue University girls' dormitory and beating up a, man student Monday night. The Very Rev. R. H. Gross. St. Joseph's president, announced the action in a letter of apology to; Purdue authorities. The students] were not named. The sixth mem-; ber of the group was a junior. St. Joseph’s authorities said the dismissal was final and no applications for re-admission would be l accepted. They added the students ! all previously were in good stand- ; ing at the college. , The students were traced ; , through the, license of an automobile in which they left the West Lafayette campus after disrupting | a meeting of co-operative students in Shoemaker Girls Co-operative ■Dormitory. Elks Cancer Party Shows $540 Profits Report Is Given By General Chairman The annual Elks cancer party, held last Saturday evening, realized a net profit of 5540, all of which will be sent to the Indiana Elks cancer fund, general chairman William Schulte, announced today. The affair was held at the K. of C. hall. Chairman Schulte thanked the K. of C. organization for its cooperation in making the party a success. Special thanks also were extended to Francis Faurote, in charge of contacting the merchants for their merchandise prizes, and W. C. Petrie, who delivered the prizes to the K. of C. hall. He also thanked J. J. Baker, Jack Nelson, and "George Laurent, who were incharge of special entertainment, V. J. Bormann, chairman of the ticket committee, and all of the men who served on the various committees as assistants. Merchants who donated merchandise to the party were: Kohne Drug Co., E. F.
