faculty and students are behind the team 100 per cent to bring the championship back to DCHS. -D.C.H.S.— The juniors and several seniors are in charge of the concessions at this year’s tourney. They promise to do their best in taking care of the many hungry and thirsty appetites. —D.C.H.S — Candidates lor homecoming queen were voted upon last Fri-' day. The four chosen were Carolyn Heimann, Rita Mendez, Susie Sutton, and Betty Baker. Later another vote will be taken for the queen and kept secret until the the crowning ceremonies duridg the half-time of the Marion Bennett game, January 31. • —D.C.H.S.— Last Friday night the Commodores suffered their second setback in a row and fourth loss of the season as Hartford defeated them, 74 to 50. The Gorillas held a 20-point half-time advantage, 39-19. Phil Reed did not see action in the game as a result of an ankle injury suffered in the Anderson St. Mary’s game. —D.C.H.S.— The second team was also defeated as the Gorillas seconds outscored them, 28 to 16. —D.C.H.S.— Volunteers gathered & made pom poms early this week. The green and gold pompoms will add much color to the Commodore cheering section during the tourney. —D.C.H.S.— , Little Diane Lindahl, daughter of Coach and Mrs. Al Lindahl, will be the Commodore mascot. She will be outfitted in a green skirt and white sweater similar to the cheerleaders. —D.C.H.S.— Judging from the happy smiles of the senior home ec class as they 4 walked out of class Tuesday, it was a sure bet that they had just enjoyed some good food. These were a lew of the remarks flying through the air as the students completed their semester tests this morning. They are now anxiously awaiting the results on their report cards. —D.C.H.S.— Two pte-tourney pep sessions instilled the spirit of the tourney into the students. They were an opportunity for the cheer bloc to learn new yells and put new motions to old yells. At the pep ses-
sion today, the sophomores gave a skit showing the history of cheering from the stone age to modern times. -D.C.H.S.- - * DCHS students will have an opportunity to catch their breaths after the tests and tourney excitement. Friday will be a semester holiday, and Monday will be a free day in observance of the feast of St. Agnes, the patron of the teaching staff.

In a vary close game, tbe second team was defeated by the Berne seconds, 33 to 30, in the second team tourney at Monmouth, -D.C.H.S.— Dartmouth College played its 77th season of intercollegiate football in 1957. Dr. George Crile of Cleveland, Ohio, developed the first successful blood transfusion techiques.
