Gifts Presented To Opportunity School Gifts Are Made To Vera Cruz School A meeting of the parents and teachers of the Vera Cruz opportunity school was held recently at the school. The school’s annual Christinas dinner, held December 19, was discussed and .it was pointed out that Ralph Hoffman of Monroe and Walter Thomas of Vera Cruz had donated the turkeys for the occasion. On the following day, the children presented a Christmas program at the school for their parents and friends. Gifts received included an Irish mail car, trees, decorations and games from the Ossian Hi-Y club; toys from the Decatur and Berne Girl Scouts; j a filled Christmas stocking for each thild from the 0.E.0. club! of the Apostolic Christian church, \ and a tricycle and other toys from the Sunshine club of the Apostolic Christian church. Money received from the trustees io- { taled $3,407. while the sale oTproduce and money from residents who are able to pay part of their board accounted for the remaining '52,279.98. Mrs. Rosa Pearce Dies At Delphos Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Belle Pearce, 86, of Delphos, 0., a native of Berne, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Harter and Son memorial chapel, with the ■ Rev. Argo Sudduth officiating. Mrs. Pearce was born Feb. 24, 1871, in Berne, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs". John Bodie. She had been a resident of Delphos for the past 42 years. In 1888 she was married to George K. Pearce, who died in 1939,.
