The custom of open house will be observed at their home, two miles east of Decatur, on route 3, from 2 until 5 p, m. The couple was married New Year’s day of 1908, in the parsonage of the United Brethren church in Monroeville. Officiating pastor was the Rev. Logan Powers. They have six children living, including Harold Kelly, Mrs. Hubert (Luella) Butler, Mrs. Chalmer (Velma* Stevens, Mrs. Elmer (Lucille) Wagner, Richard Kelly and Mrs. Ralph (Barbara) Busse, all of Decatur. One daughter, Mrs. Albert (Irene) Loshe of Fort Wayne, is deceased. There are 23 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Mrs. Kelly is 67 years of age, and her husband is 71. . —Photo by Johnson

New Years Eve Party At Elks Tuesday The Decatur Elks lodge will hold its annual New Years Eve party and dance Tuesday night at the lodge home on North Second street. The annual celebration will open with a cocktail hour from 9 to 10 p. m., followed by a dance. A nominal cover charge will be made to help defray cost of the orchestra. — — ~ t ’ GENEVA COUPLE IS WED IN CEREMONY SUNDAY Miss Alice Rose Stuber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stuber, of route 2, Geneva, became thd bride of Ronald R. Rhoades, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Rhoades, also of route 2, Geneva, in a double ring ceremony performed at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon. St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed church near Chattanooga, 0., was the scene of the ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. John Perl, who received the vows before an altar flanked with evergreens, candelabra and red and white poinsettia plants. The pews were marked with white satin bows and Christmas berries. Mrs. Carl Fahncke, organist, and Miss Elaine Habegger, soloist, presented a program of appropriate music for the occasion. Given in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in a gown of chantilly lace and tulle over taffeta. A scalloped neckline and long sleeves, which formed points over her hands, fashioned the bodice. White chiffon formed a drape On the bodice front and extended down the back of the bouffant floor length skirt. Her fingertip veil of illusion was caught to a crown of lace with seed pearls and sequins, and she carried an orchid, surrounded with stephanotis. Miss Jennie Cook, of Dunkirk, served as maid of honor in a floor length gown of red velveteen. The bodice was fashioned with short sleeves and a scoop neckline, highlighted with a white tulle drape, which fell to the floor in the back. A white fur headband trimmed in seed pearls and a white fur muff completed her ensemble. Miss Antus A. Santos, of the Philipines, and Miss Carol Ann Baker, of Rockford, Ohio, were bridesmaid and junior bridesmaid, respectively, and wore gowns identical to that the honor atendant. Richard Clock, of Muncie, was best man, and Thomas Stuber and Larry Bollenbacher were ushers. A reception was held at the parish hall following the ceremony. Serving the guests were Miss Patricia Murphy, of New Corydon, Miss Nancy HouSer, of Bryant, Miss Donalee Meitzler of Bristol, and Miss Audrey Kuhn. Mrs. Tom Weaver, of Bloomington, Miss Joyce Loy, of Bryant and Miss Norene Farlow, of Geneva, were in charge of the gifts, and Miss Kuhn 1 also presided at the gift registrar.

Workingi er observed their silver wedding anniversary Christmas day, with a family potluck supper, followed by a gift exchange. Family movies were also shown, throughout the evening. Guests were later served ice cream and cake. The cake, provided by the couple’s only daughter, Miss Shirley Workinger, was two tiered and attractively decorated with flowers, silver bells and a miniature bride and groom, “25th Anniversary” was inscribed across the top. The couple was married December 25, 1932, in the Methodist church parsonage at Bucyrus, Ohio, with the Rev. John Greea officiating. East Chicago Child Is Burned To Death EAST CHICAGO W—Anton Beverly, 20 iponths old, was burned to death Thursday night when fire damaged an apartment. Firemen said the fire may have started when a brother or sister of the baby dropped a lighted candle in a Christmas tree while the children's mother was visiting a neighbor. Five other children of the family escaped from the burning apartment.

Altar Boy Dies Os . Burns Friday Night CHICAGO nr - A 13-year-old altar boy died Friday night of burns suffered when his cassock caught fire while he was lighting candles at the altar of a church. The Rev. Edward Gorman of St. Viator’s Roman Catholic church heard the boy, Paul Sanders, screaming and rushed to his aid. He smothered the flames with an overcoat, but it was too late. Paul died almost 12 hours later.
