Continuing the series of informative papers on the six major religions of the world, Mrs. Myles F. Parrish presented an interesting report concerning Christianity. This was followed by a brief business seston, conducted by Mrs. Glenn Hill, club president. Mrs. Ferris Bower, club secretary, presented the report of the November general meeting. Mrs. James Newton and Mrs. D. Burdette Custer lighted- the large seven-branched candelabra placed at the front of the room, the lights were dimmed and the narrators, Mrs. Reid Erekson and Mrs. Roy Kalver, took their places in front of a large decorated Christmas tree. The program was opened as Mrs. Jean Grant Altervogt, guest soloist, sang the "Virgin Shall Conceive,” from Hahdel’s Messiah. The narrators then related interesting legends pf other countries, with Mrs. Altervogt then rendering a vocal solo pertaining to the country concerned. Her selections included "The Cherry Tree Carol,” “The Birds Carol,” "The Virgin Slumber Song," "He ShaU Feed Hu Flock,” "Jesu Bambino,” "We Three Kings,” and "The Christmas Candle.” Mrs. Bower was the piano accompanist for each of the selections. As a fitting end to the impressive Christmas program, Mrs. Altervogt sang "I Wonder as I Wander.” Members of the Dramatic department were then hostesses for a tea, served from a table covered with a red cloth, and featuring silver and milk glass appointments. The placing of holly branches completed the table decorations. Mrs. Hill and Mrs. Herman Krueckeberg. Dramatic department chairman, presided at the tea table.
