NEWLY-WEDS ABE FETED AT WEDDING RECEPTION Mr. and Mrs. Donald A. Sudduth, who were married December 4 at Willshire, irere guests of honor at a wedding reception, given last Sunday at the home of Mrs. Mary Miller, also Willshire. The Rev. Earl Patrick performed the ceremony. The bride, the former Miss Shirley Jean Miller, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Miller, of Willshire, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs Aaron Sudduth, of Decatur. Serving at the reception were Miss Mary Ann Kelsey and Miss Carolyn Fisher. The bride appeared in a street length dress of baby blue lace. Attending the reception were the couple's parents and Mr. and Mrs,/ Frank Sudduth and Diane, Mrs. May Miller, Mrs. Inola Alspaugh, Mrs. Margaret August and Melinda, Mrs. Mildred Kelsey and children, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Miller and children, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Miller and Carol Ann, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Miller and Linda, Mrs. Louise Brown and Children, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Don Black and children, Larry Miller and Carolyn Fisher, Mrs. William C. D.A.V. AUXILIARY GIVES ANNUAL PARTY FOR VETS The Disabled American Veterans auxiliary held their annual Christmas party for the patients of-the Veterans hospital in Fort Wayne, Thurs. evening. The program was conducted in the hospital auditorium, and refreshments were later served in the lounge. Local auxiliary women assisting with the party were Mrs. Dale Stalter. Mrs. Harold Hitchcock, Mrs. Wilford Ray and Mrs. Dorus Stalter. MRS. PORTER ENTERTAINS PINOCHLE CLUB THURSDAY Mrs. William Porter entertained members so the Decatur Pinochle club, Thursday evening, at their annual Christmas party. A dessert, in keeping with the Christmas theme, was served earW tffe' evening. The 'ihfflvflual serving tables were adorned with yuletide decpratiops, including snow men and choir boys. While the group was engaged in a game later on, Santa Claous ar- ‘ rived to conduct the gift exchange. At the. conclusion of the games, prizes were -awarded to Mrs. Raymond McDougal, Mrs. Lawrence Kohne and Mrs. Calvin Magley. PLEASANT MILLS SOCIETY .. IN RECENT REGULAR MEET Members of the Pleasant Mills Methodist Women’s Society of Christian Servict met recently at the church, for a regular scheduled meeting. Decorations of the church added a festive note to the meeting. w Mrs. Murray HoUoway led in the devotional period which opened the meeting, and then presented a lesson on “You Are My Witness,” followed by a lesson on foreign missions, given by Mrs. Darrell Clouse. FoUowed by'a paper concerning India and its overseas missions, by Mrs. Leland Ray, Mrs. Holloway closed this portion of the meeting with prayer. Numerous Christmas carols were sung by the women, and a gift exchange was conducted during the social hour which followed the meeting. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Wayne Clouse, Mrs. Selma Querin and Mrs. Laura Davis, to the 14 members, and one guest, Mrs. Johnnie Hanks, who attended the meeting. Mrs. Clyde Jones dismissed the group ’kith prayer. PLAYET prsesented for WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION A playlet, “The Star Light," was presented for members of the Presbyterian Women’s association, who attended their annual Christmas program at the church Wednesday evening. Mrs. Royal Friend served as director of the playlet. Gifts, brought by the women for the Gary Neighborhood house, were dedicated by Mrs. Edward Cook, after which officers for the coming year were installed. Refreshments were served by the Ruth and Naomi circles of the church.
OFFICERS ELECTED FOR LIMBERLOST RIDERS New officers of the Limberlost Trial Riders were elected recently, when that group met at the Youth and Community center for their annual Christmas party. Following a potluck supper, a gift exchange was conducted by those present. Each family attending donated food items for a needy I family basket. Verlin Smith was chosen to.se.ixe.the organization as president,and Clark Smith was elected vice president Mrs. Kenneth Secaur will serve as secretary. For the January meeting, members wUI meet at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Locke. CHRISTMAS PARTY ATTENDED BY WOMEN OP tHE MOOSE A Christmas dinner party was attended by the Women of the Moose, Thursday evening at the Moose home. Colorful Christmas ornaments were used on each of the serving tables. Numerous Christmas carols were sung by the group, after which Santa arrived to distribute the gifts. A Christmas program was then presented by the committee in charge. The next regular meeting will be held next Thursday evening. Officers will meet at 7:30, with lodge at 8 o'clock. ROSE GARDEN CLUB HAS ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DINNER A Christmas motif was used in the decorations of the serving tables at the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church recently, where members of the Rose Garden club met for the annual Christmas dinner. The centerpiece was presented to the public library after the meeting. Mrs. Frank Crist offered grace prior to the serving of the chicken dinner, which was served, by the ladies of the church. Ohio, have announced the engagement of their youngest daughter, Sondra, to Richard Samples, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Samples, of route 1, Rockford, Ohio. Miss Schlickmen is a 1957 graduate of Willshire high school, and is now attending Elkhart university at Elkhart. Her fiance was graduated from the same high school in 1956, and is presently studying at Indiana Technicabeollege in Fort Wayne. No date has been set for the wedding.

Each member of the St> Mary’s township club is asked to bring a covered dish and her own table .service... Cheer sister , names will, be revealed at the meeting. Any member who does not have a cheer sister is asked to bring a gift. All club members are urged to attend this meeting. A potluck supper will be served at 6 p. m. Tuesday at the Red Men's hall,’ for members’ of the Pocahontas lodge, who will be attending their annual Christmas dinner party. There will be a $1 gift exchange, and the council will provide the meat, rolls and coffee. w ■ Because of illness, members of the Historical club will meet with Mrs. Blanche Robinson next Wednesday, instead of Mrs. William Dellinger. This will be the group’s Christmas dinner, and will begin at 12 noon.

Attends Retreat !S ’ SEOUL (AftTNd)'PFC. Lawrence J. Neuen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leland A. Neuen. 405 Columbia st., Berne, Ind., recently attended a five-day religious retreat at the Army’s Far East retreat site near Seoul. Protestant, Catholic and Jewish chaplains alternate planning the program of lectures, conferences and services. Neuen entered the Army in October, 1956, and received basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. He arrived overseas last April and is now a mechanic in the Ist Cavalry *Division’s 15th Quartermaster company. The 20-year-old soldier is a 1956 graduate of Berne French high school.
On Basketball Team FORT RILEY, Kan. (AHTNC)Army Pvt. Ronald E. Secaur, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth J. Secaur, Route 5, Decatur, Ind., recently was named to the Ist Infantry Division Artillery basketball team at Fort Riley, Kan. Secaur entered the Army last August and received basic training at Fort Gordon. Ga. The 22-year-old soldier was graduated from Decatur high school in 1953 and was employed by the Pennsylvania railroad, Philadelphia, before entering the Army. v--

THE ENGAGEMENT of Miss Shirley Ann Hufford, of Greenville, Ohio, to Dave Minster rpan, has been announced by the brideelect's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Hufford, of Greenville. The bridegroom-elect is the son of the Rev. and Mrs. Louis C. Minsterman, of route 3, Bluffton. Miss Hufford, a graduate of Greenville high school, is a junior at Ball State Teachers college. Her fiance, who was also graduated from Greenville high school, attended Heidelberg college at Tiffin, Ohio. He recently returned from a four of duty with the U. S. Army, and is presently employed by the Miami Valley Milk Producers association of Greenville. Court News • Real Estate Sold In the matter of the trust estate of Dorothy I. Wells, the report of the sale of real property in Jay county at private sale has been submitted and approved. The deed has been ordered delivered to the purchasers, George and Delores Judy, on full payment of the purchase price of $8,750. Estate Cases The inheritance tax report for the estate of.Laura A. Kerr has been filed and a notice has been ordered issue# returnable Jan. 6. The value is estimated at $8,095.95 outside the estate, with $95.95 subject to tax from the heirs, who are four daughters. , The inventory of the Minnie Coppess Essex estate, filed and approved in circuit court, shows $15,000 in real property, SB6 in household goods, $1,020 in crops and of $16,835.81. The schedule to determine inheritance tax for the estate of James H. Kelly has been filed with reference to the county assessor. It shows that the net value of the estate is $35,619.41. Heirs include 26 cousins and seven Catholic church agencies. The inheritance tax report for the William Michaels, Sr., estate has been submitted and approved. It shows a net value of $5,496.19, plus $68,044.18 outside the estate. Tax due includes $176.64 from one son, $219.08 from another son and $227.36 from a third son, and none from six grandchildren. Proof of the notices of appointment and filial settlement has been filed for the Manasse M. Liechty estate. The final report, showing $6,724.66 with Mary Liechty as the only heir, has been submitted and approved and distribution has been ordered. The inheritance tax report for the estate of Hulda O. Sipe has been filed and a notice has been
