MISS MARJORIE SPRUNGER MARRIES LARRY GASKILL Miss Marjorie Joan Sprunger. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Sprunger, of route 1, Berne, became the bride of Larry E. Gaskill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Gaskill, of Dixon, Ohio, in a double ring ceremony at the First Mennonite church in Berne, Sunday afternoon, at 1:30 o’clock. The Rev. Adrian Sprunger, brother of the bride, was assisted by the. Rev. Gordon Neuenschwander in performing the ceremony, following a musicale by Miss Margaret Baumgartner, organist, and Miss Betty Steury, soloist. Given in marriage by her brother, Robert W. Sprunger, the bride wore a gown of lace and tulle. The bodice of lace was fashioned with a Sabrina neckline and long sleeves that formed points over her wrists. Her bouffant skirt of tulle was appliqued with lace embroidered in sequins and pearls, and ended in a chapel length train. A crown of lace, trimmed in sequins, held her three-tiered veil of imported illusion in place, and she carried a colonial bouquet of red roses. Mrs. Stanley Sprunger, sister-in-law of the bride, attended as matron of honor in a street length dress of blue velveteen, fashioned in princess style, with a round neckline and short sleeves. JMiss Carol Jane Heller was bridesmaid in a dress identical to the honor attendant’s. Royal blue satin cummerbunds accented the waistlines of the gowns, and they wore matching colored headpieces with face veils. They carried poinsettias >n lace covered satin muffs. Little Miss Cheryl Sprunger, niece of the bride, was flower girl. She also wore a blue, velveteen dress, and carried a basket of rose petals. Varrell Mclntosh was best man. and Stanley Sprunger. brother of the bride, was groomsman. Monte and Russell Gaskill, brother and cousin of the bridegroom, respec-J tively. and Roger W. and Merlin I Sprunger, brother and cousin of ! the bride, seated the guests. a reception, held following the ceremony in the church basement. Servers were Miss Marjorie Sprunger, Mrs. Robert Cauble, Miss Sonja Yoder. Miss Joyce Ervin, Miss Margaret Zuercher, and Miss Nancy Ebersole, the latter from Fort Wayne. Mrs. Arlen Mitchel had charge of the gift table, and Miss Doris Cauble presided at (he guest register. The new Mrs. Gaskill is a graduate of Adams Central high school with the class of 1956, and is employed in the office of Kresge's Warehouse in Fort Wayne. Her husband was graduated from Monroeville high school and attended Asbury college. He is presently stationed at Fort McClellan, Ala., with the U. S. army. Upon their return from a wedding trip,’ the couple will reside with the bride’s parents. Gaskill will return to his base in Alabama when his furlough ends. ELLEN JONES IS FETED AT MISCELLANEOUS SHOWER Miss Ellen A. Jones, December 28 bride-elect of Glen Mosier of Ohio City, Ohio, was recently feted at a miscellaneous bridal shower, given at the Pleasant Mills Methodist church. Hostesses for the event were Mrs. Delphena Reynolds, Mrs. Gretchen Foreman and Mrs. Floyd Kraft, assisted by Miss Shiela Foreman. Three bridal contests were played by the group, with the prize winners in turn presenting their gifts to Miss Jones. After the games, the bride-elect was led to the gift table, which was attractively decorated with a large pink umbrella, accented with white, under which gifts for her were placed. Later, the hostesses served refreshments to the following guests: the Mesdames R. H. Everett, Ned Dull, Dallas Johns, Bessie Mosier, John Meyers, Lawrence Ehrsam, Paul Mosier, John Brecht, William Goldner, Leland Ray, Jay Minch, Will Evans, Darrell Clouse, Elmer Golliff, Wayne Clouse, Harvey Jones, Ada Mosier, Robert Mosier, Jesse Sutton, William Workinger, Kenneth Funk, Richard Fiechter, John Johnson, Selma Querin, Agnes Backhaus, Lawrence Smith,'Paul Hilyard, James Everett, Donnabelle Affolder and Clyde Jones, and the Misses Wanda Johns, Vicki Mosier, Linda Affolder. Invited guests unable to attend, but sending gifts for Miss Jones were the Mesdames Roy Price, Marion Smith. Robert Straw, Donald Creigh, Gerald Nevil, Glenn Mann, Murray, Holloway, Harlan Jones, Charles Morrison. Miles Jones and Ruth Tolen and Miss Myrtle Sheets. THIRTY-THREE MEMBERS ATTEND CLASS PARTY Thirty-three member $ of the Zearl McClure Sunday school class attended a recent potluck Christmas party of that group, held in the Missionary church parsonage basement. Following the dinner, the Rev. Gerald Gerig led the members in the singing of favorite Christmas carols. A short business session followed. After the class presented Mr. McClure with a Christmas gift, several games and contests were participated in DECATUR WEIGHT WATCHERS HAVE 490 CALORIE DINNER The Decatur Weight Watchers 3 jet at 1127 Nuttman avenue Monay evening, for their 400 calorie Christmas dinner and party, with 18 members and one guest in attendance. Guests were seated at a candle lit table graced with a large center piece in keeping with the holiday season. Green Christmas tree place cards informed the guests of the menu and calorie count. The dinner, consisting of turkey, baked potatoes, asparagus spears, cranberry sauce, tossed salad and relishes, was served with dessert of angel food cake, fruit and coffee. During the game period which followed the dinner, Santa Claus arrived and distributed gifts to each woman present. Later, the club members were again invited to the dining room, where the table was covered with a gay red cloth, and centered with a large crystal punch bowl, graced on either side by lighted red candles. After the women were served, they retired to the living room for a social hour. HISTORICAL CLUB MEETS .. .. WITH MRS. ED MILLER The members of the Historical club met recently at the home of Mrs. Ed Miller, for a regular meeting. Mrs. Delton Passwater gave the paper, using as her subject the territory of Alaska. A reminder was issued that members are to. have their reservations in by Sunday for the club Christmas dinner, which will be held at the home of Mrs. William Dellinger, December 18. *

COUNTY DEMONSTRATION CHORUS HAS PARTY The Adams County home demonstration chorus met at the Farm Bureau building In Monroe Monday evening for their annual Christmas party. Twenty-seven members of the chorus were ’ present for the occasion. Members of the Monroe group were hostess to a carry in supper. Colorful Christmas appointments were used on the serving tables. After dinner, the women assembled to sing favorite Christmas carols and later exchanged gifts. Christmas greetings were read from Mrs. Martin Neuenschwander, former director of the chorus. 4 reminder was issued of the next rehearsal, which will be held January 13. MRS. JIM ARNOLD IS HOSTESS FOR MEETING Mrs. Jim Arnold was hostess for the Christmas meeting of the Merrier Mondays Club, held at her holiday decorated home Monday evening. Mrs. DeMyron Byerly acted as co-hostess. The meeting was called to order by Mrs. Robert Mitchell, ’out-go-ing president of the club. ‘‘My plans for Christmas,” were given by 29 members answering roll call. An interesting lesson on Christmas decorations was then given by the hostess. Each member was taught how to make a “Star of Bethlehem,” designed of aluminum foil. Mrs. Harold Arnold and Mrs. Gene Hurst then led in the devotional lesson, after which the group join ed together in singing* a medley of Christmas carols. Christmas gifts from secret pals ■were then distributed, and each member revealed who her secret pal had been. Die new president, Mrs. Homer Arnold, Jr., then presided over the drawing of new secret pals and also for hostesses for the coming year. Refreshments, in keeping with the yuletide season, were then served by the hostesses to the members and one guest in attendance. MEMBERS OF DELT SORORITY HAVE CHRISTMAS DINNER Members of the Delta Theta Tau sorority met Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Lyle Mallonnee, for their annual Christmas dinner and party. A long table was centered with a large gold and white angel, and small white Christmas trees flanked either end of the table. Each place was marked with an angel Christmas tree ornament, which served as the Christmas favor. Dinner, featuring fried chicken, was served by the hostess, who was assisted by Mrs. Clifford Brewer, Mrs. Frank Lybarger, and Mrs. Jay Markley. A fancy dessert, Consisting of individual balls of green ice cream covered with cocoanut and decorated with holly and a lighted candle, added a festive note to the meal A short business meeting followed, with Mrs. Leo Teeple presiding. Mrs. Brewer reported that 276 cans of candy have been sold by the sorority thus far. She also announced that the popcorn sale for the Goodfellows club was a success, with 402 boxes sold at the Santa Claus train.

Mrs. Leland Smith, chairman of the Goodfellows project, reported on its progress, and announced that there will be a’called meeting of the sorority at her home next Tuesday evening in order to complete details of this year’s project. Following the meeting, games were played and prizes were awarded to Mrs. Kenneth Shannon and Mrs. Richard Kershner. The Chi Rho Sunday school class of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church will sponsor a bake sdle from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, at the Sherwin Williams Paint store on North Second street. Members of the Decatur Welcome Wagon club will meet at the frairway restaurant at 6:30 p.m. Monday, for their Christmas dinner. There is to be a $1 gift exchange, and those planning to attend are to call 3-4129 for reservations no later than Friday. . Unit 2, of the Bethany Evangelical United Brethren church W.S.W.S. will meet with Mrs. George Sprague Thursday afternoon, at 2 o’clock. A meeting of the Adams County Nurses Association is slated for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, at 316 Mercer avenue. This will be the Christmas party for the group, and there will be a 61 gift exchange. Mrs. Otto Boerger will be hostess to the Merry Matrons home demonstration club Diesday at 7:30 p.m. Officers will be installed, there will be a 50-cent gift exchange and secret pals will be reA potluck Christmas dinner will be served at the Moose home at 6:30 p.m. Monday, for members of the Academy of Friendship of the Women of the Moose. Members are to bring a covered dish, their own table service and a 50-cent gift for exchange. During the evening, secret pals for the past year will be revealed. Mrs. Ralph Loshe will entertain members of the Queen of Peace study club, Thursday evening at 7:30 o’clock. Monday, at 8 p.m., members of the Rosary society will meet at the K. of C. hall. A reguar meeting of the Decatur Weight Watchers club is slated for 8 p.m. Monday, at the Decatur public library.Members of the Church Mothers study club will meet at 8 p.m. next Tuesday, at the home of Mrs. Winston Rawley. An important' business meeting of the Tri-Kappa sorority is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. next Tuesday, at the Youth and Community center. Members are reminded that al do tickets must be turned in at Oiis meeting. Mrs. Don Mac Lean will entertain members of the Decatur Garden club next Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Mrs. Dale Morrissey wi present the paper. Officers of the Root Township home demonstration club will be installed during the all day meeting of that 'organization, scheduled for next Tuesday. The meeting will begin at 10:?0 am.. with a potluck dinner to be served at noon. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish and their own table service. There will be a gift exchange among capsule pals, and these year-long pals will then be revealed. Members please note change in place. At the Adams county memorial hospital: An eight pound, four* ounce son was born at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, to Walter and Joan Moser Graber, of Fort Wayne. John and Jean Braun Rauch, of 120 South Fourteenth street, are parents of a baby girl, born at 7 a m. today.
