terfat production, Also at the Hays farm, a harvetaore silo in addition to a bunker silo will be observed. Also of interest will be a zero pasture program which will be explained. This tour will replace the winter dairy extension meeting as decided by the Adams county dairy committee under the chairmanship of Ben Mazelin. For this reason a great number of Adams county dairymen should be interested in going on the tour and seeing some of the dairy operations in Ohio.- A similar type of tour arrangement was made last year when the Ohio dairymen visited in Adams county at about the same tjme of year. All Adams county dairymen are invited to go on the tour and to see as much of these dairy operations as is possible. ■— Jury Is Selected For Murder Trial A jury of five women and seven men was tentatively seated Wednesday in the first degree murder trial of Cleo Eugene Peters, 19, charged *uth killing Paul Coblentz, 25, an Amish farmer, on uuiy 18 near Millersburg, O. • ' Coblentz is related to the Coblentzs who live near Geneva and Berne. Warmer Banklet Os Air Over Indiana Promise Melting Os Heavy Snow Blanket By INDIANA PRESS A warmer blanket of air filtered over Indiana today and gave promise of melting the state’s first heavy blanket of snow* Temperature ranging in the 40s were expected at peak points today from Lake Michigan to the Ohio River. , If the snow hasn’t vanished by the end of the day, and the weatherman’s forecast for the future is accurate, it will be gone by Friday or Saturday. For top temperatures in the 50s were forecast for Friday and the outlook for Saturday was "cloudy and warm with occasional light rain.” Meanwhile, deaths blamed indirectly on the weather in Indiana climbed to seven when a traffic crash near New Castle killed Mrs. Florence Slusser, 68, Columbus Grover. Ohio, Wednesday. A car driven by her uhusband skiided on a patch of ice in Ind. 3 and plowed into a tree. Earlier, four traffic deaths and two fire deaths had snow, ice and cold weather connections. Temperatures ranged from 28 at I Lafayette to 35 at Evansville at ! their high points Wednesday and ! dropped only a few degrees, to a ’ range of 23 at Indianapolis to 27 at South Bend, during the night. FEAR (Continued from Page One) prints, a man’s blood-stained shirt and a pair of girl’s black corduroy slacks. The doll, which Maria had been playing with when she vanished, was sent to the FBI laboratory in Washington for possible fingerprints. The girl's parents said the slacks were not hers. Authorities said Marias distraught parents, Mr and Mrs. Mike Ridolph, had received no ransom note, giving rise to the belief the girl had been abducted on the spur of the moment by a sex fiend. Ridolph, a factory worker, refused to give up his round-the-clock search, although he was on the verge of collapse. His wife, Frances, feared the worst but expressed faith that "God's taking care of her...l don't think she’s alive. ,r Later, she made a tearful television plea to the kidnaper and to her daughter through United Press Movietone. "If the person who kidnaped her is listening, it couldn’t have been done in malice,” she said from her modest home. “It was a little mistake. God forgives mistakes. We would too. “Don’t cry, Maria, above all don’t cry. Don’t make a fuss. We’4l be with you soon." ; Anxious parents kept their children indoors and this city of 6.669 appeared to be a ghost town without the happy cries of children in the streets. : fe Business came to a virtual standstill Wednesday as shopkeepers closed-their doors and factories dismised workers to join the search, which fanned out throughout the county. Police said a small search party today will scour one remaining section of this hilly, farm area “which has not been searched yet entirely to our satisfaction.” Authorities would not define the area in question. — A SSOO reward, was posted by the Sycamore posts of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion for anyone finding the child alive. .* Maria's playmate, Cathie Sigman, 7, told police the two girls were playing when a blond, curly haired man about 24 years old approached and offered Maria a piggy-back ride because she had a doll. Cathie said she ran home to get a doll and a pair of mittens, but when she returned. Maria and the man had disappeared.
