Commodores Win Over Rockcreek Dodgers By | 69-54 Score Wednesday
The Decatur Catholic Commodores exploded for 22 points in the second quarter against the Rockcreek Dodgers at Bluffton Wednesday night to build up an insuperable margin, and win 6954. A slow first quarter saw the Dodgers leading 13 to 11, as the Commodores failed to hit their free throws. They had outscored the Rockcreek team 5-4 on field goals, but missed most of their free throws, to give the Wells county team a two-point lead. The second quarter was a different story, however. Reed hit two buckets and four free throws, Hake, two and two, Kable two two-pointers, and Meyer and Wilder a goal each, for a total of 22 points for the quarter. Coach Lex Doremire's Dodgers scored only seven points, and the rest of the game was a runaway. Hake. Reed, and Kable hit 18, 17, and 16 points respectively to lead Commodore scoring, while Charles Shively, for the Dodgers, was high point man for the evening with 24 points. Kinsey was the only other Rockcreek player in the double-figure bracket, with 11 points. The Rockcreek team had 23 personal fouls called against it, compared with 15 against the Commodores. No one fouled out of the game. Schultz had a technical foul called against him in the last quarter.
