Benhard Lehman Dies Sunday At Hospital Funeral Services Wednesday Morning Benhard Lehman. 74, of Berne, died at 3:45 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Adams county memorial hospital, where he had been a patient since Thursday following a cerebral hemorrhage. He was born in Monroe township and was a lifelong resident o( Adams county. He was a member of the First Mennonite church. Surviving are two sons, Eventt L. and Ernest R. Lehman, both of Berne; three daughters, Mrs. Ludella Crist of Joliet, ill., Mrs. Merlin Beer of Geneva route 1. and Mrs. Vilas E. Schertz of Grabill; 12 grandchildren; a brother, David D. Lehman of Anchorage, Alaska, and seven sisters, Mrs. Ada Stucky, Mrs. Elmer W. Baumgartner, Mrs Menno B. Habegger, Mrs. David Stauffer and Mrs. Elda Moser, all of Berne, Mrs. Tillman Steiner of Berne route 1, and Mrs. A. K. Simpson of Fort Wayne. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a. m. Wednesday at the First Mennonite church, the Rev. Gordon Neuenschwander officiating. Burial will be in the MRE cemetery. Friends may call at the Yager funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening until time of the services. Mrs. Emma Sprunger Dies This Morning Mrs. Emma Sprunger, 81, widow of Gideon Sprunger, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 7:10 o’clock this morning at the Bertsch recovery home at Berne. Surviving are four step-children, Mrs. Preston Zehr of Berne, Mrs. Clara Smith of Shelby, Mich . Mrs Harvey Hirschey of Plainwell, Mich., and Palmer O. Sprunger of Geneva rural route; and seven sisters, the Misses Mary Ann, Hannah, Milka, Rose and Aldina Sprunger, all of Berne, Mrs. Noah Habegger of Berne, and Mrs. J. C. Kauffman of Freeman, S. D. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Mennonite church in Berne, the Rev. Gordon Neuenschwander officiating. Burial will be in the MRE cemetery. Friends may call at the Yager funeral home after 1 p.m. Tuesday. Clothing Drive For World Relief Here A clothing drive for world relief is being sponsored by Zion Lutheran church. West Monroe street, under the direction of its board of elders, Henry Krueckeberg and Garhard Schultz. Usable clothing and, shoes .will be'.brought to the Zion parish hall Thanksgiving Day and Friday, and Saturday morning will be carted to a large van stationed on the lot of Redeemer Lutheran church, Rudisill and Harrison streets, Fort Wayne. All Lutheran churches of all synodical affiliations in the greater Fort Wayne area are cooperating in the clothing.. . drive.
