He denied any romantic involvements, but Sonali was reported to have preceded Rossellini to Paris before he returned there for a reunion with Ingrid a couple of weeks ago. Along with announcement at the legal separation by mutual consent, Graziadei issued a letter signed by Rossellini and Miss Bergman in which they said they had found “difficulty in continuing life together for some time.” The letter was dated Oct. 31 and the address was the Hotel Raphael in Paris, where the pair stayed after Rossellini returned from India on Oct. 20. Oct. 31 was the day the couple left Paris to return to Rome together after an 11-day period of reunion that was regarded as a "second honeymoon”

CONGRESSMEN (Continued iro-m Page One) “generalized pep talk by the President". He urged Eisenhower to summon a special session of congress. Sen. John Kenney (D-Mass.), another member of the Foreign Relations Committee, demanded that Eisenhower “teU us squarely where we stand” and withhold the the “pious beatitudes of faith and hope." Expected to be Frank The president is expected to give as frank an appraisal as possible, within the bounds of security, of this country’s current missile progress and to caU for new programs to increase scientific and engineering manpowerBut it was not known whether he would announce any dramatic new scientific achievement to take away some of the propaganda edge gained by Russia with its two Sputniks. Rep. Walter Rogers (D-Tex.) said the President should “let us know what the score is. . .if we have slipped behind the Russians, the sooner we know it, the better. Among Republicans, 10 firstterm GOP House members sent a telegram to the President saying: "The people want and must have the facts about our missile program and the effect the Russian achievements have on our national security.” Ask Ike to Give Facto They called on the Chief Executive to lay the facts “on the line regardless of how serious or unpleasant these facts may be.” Rep. Henry S. Reuss (D-Wis ) commented that “the time is past when the President can get by with generalities.” He said Eisenhower should ‘.‘tell the people what we are up against and the sacrifices we are going to have to make.’’ A similar view was taken by House Speaker Sam Rayburn. He said in a statement issued from his Bonham, Tex., home Wednesday that Americans are "troubled and distressed” by- recent world events and “feel certain that Russia has taken the leadership in science and especially in the ballistic missile field;” Eisenhower decided to make his address, to be entitled “Science and Security," tonight and from the White House instead of Nov. 13 in Oklahoma City as originally scheduled. , If you have something to sell at rooms for rent, try a Democrat Want Ad — they bring results.

Near Riot Spawned By TV Commercial Milwaukee Store Threatened By Mob MILWAUKEE (UP) — A oneminute television commercial spawned a near riot that threatened to reduce a furniture store to shambles and cost the store $46,000. A menacing mob or more than 8,000 persons gathered at the Waldheim furniture store Wednesday demanding free lamps and had to be controlled by a riot squad. They had come to make the store live up to a promise that free television lamps, which retailed at $8.95, would be distributed to all customers and potential customers who visited the store between the hours of 9 and 11 a.m. It was reported that three persons fainted in the “crush," that another had his pocket picked, and that a man’s glasses were broken by the milling crowd. The furniture store advertised the s “giyeaway” during a one-min-ute commercial on a television program it sponsored. Store officials were “flabbergasted” when thousands persons gathered in front of the store, jockeying and pushing for the free lamps. By 9:30 am., the crowd numbered more than 8,000, then received the news the store had exhausted its supply of lamps. A wave of resentment swept through the crowd as they clamored for lamps. In order to keep his store from being ripped apart, the harried manager, Stanley Waldheim Jr., arranged to have gift certificates passed out to mollify the crowd. The certificates could be exchanged for the lamps when the stock is renewed or for any other piece of merchandise of equal value. — Meanwhile, the riot squad rushed to the scene and, augmented by more than 28 uniformed police and members of the detective squad barely managed to control the bargain-hunters. The crowd was so large a competitor of Waldheim's couldn’t

make his way to his door to open for the day*s business. “We only did it to see if anyone was watching our show,’’ Waldheim said. “Brother, did we find out.” SPECULATE (Continued from Page One) Also in Washington Sen. Styles Bridges (R-N.H.) proposed the appointment of a “missile and satellite program coordinator” to eliminate waste and duplication and regain leadership in the field. Reports poured in from, around the world of new sightings of Sputnik ll—and with them fanciful reports of mysterious lights in the sky, of mysterious objects flitting through space and mysterious objects, falling to the earth. Soviet scientists have stated throughout the week they had the capability of sending a rocket to the moon with new superfuels but they have steered clear of outright predictions. Moen Launching Soon Dr. Fred L. Whipple, director of the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory at Cambridge. Mass., predicted that either Russia or the United States would launch a subsatellite to circle the moon within a very few yearsOne of Britain's top scientists differed with the predictions. He was Prof. Richard V. Wooley, Britain's astronomer royal and head of the Royal Greenwich observatory. “Why keep on filling Kids minds with nonsense?” he asked, “getting to the moon just isn't a feasible project in the near future.” Moscow Radio, quoting the “Soviet Weekly,” p said Russia will launch several more Sputniks within the next year, apparently in connection with the geophysical Year which ends in December, 1958. In London Lord Beaverbrook’s Daily Express reported the Russians had prepared a new satellite weighing more than a ton, or twice the weight of Sputnik 11, and that a dog had been trained in preparation for becoming another martyr to science.
