Lender this law of parity or symmetry scientists held there was no basic difference in the behaviour of sub-atomic particles although one might spin in one direction and one might spin in another. Lee and Yang proved this conclusion wrong. The effects of Lee’s and Yang’s discoveries cannot yet be fully and exactly surveyed. But they forced scientists to approach theoretical physics from an entirely different standpoint. Columbia's report on the discovery said Lee and Yang opened the way for a correct and unifying theory of elementary particles. The male phalarope, a small shore bird, does the family housekeeping.
