Special Masses On Friday, Saturday Masses at St. Mary's Catholic church Friday, which is the feast of All Saints, a holy day of obligation for all Catholics, will be at 6,7 and 8 a. m. and at 5:30 p. m. On Saturday, marking the feast of All Souls,' each of the three local priests will offer three masses. These masses will be celebrated beginning at 6 a. m. and continuing without interruption until the nine masses are completed. Since Friday is a holy day, it was pointed out, the usual Friday abstinance will not be required and the eating of meat is permitted on that day. Indiana-Michigan Makes Tax Payment The fall tax installment of $8,715.04 was paid today by Indiana & Michigan Electric company to Adams county for real and personal property. Frank E. Noble. This tax payment represent* the second and final installment due on 1956 Indiana real and personal property taxes, he said. I4M's total real and personal property tax bill in Adams county for 1956 was $17,430.08. The total I&M real and personal property tax bill in 32 Indiana counties in 1956 amounted to 82,804,798, including- 81,402,030 paid this week for the fall installment. This was an increase in taxes of 5.9 percent over 1955. Policemen's Ball Saturday Evening Another initiation to the general public has been extended by local F. O. P. lodge to attend the policemen’s ball which will be held Saturday at 9 p.m. at Sunset Park. Tickets for the event are priced at 81.50. They are available from any law enforcement officer of the county and can also be purchased at the door. The dance will feature music by the Keynoters. Also planned is a smorgasbord which will be offered free to those attending the dance. Almost one-third of the labor force of the nation is women and more than half are married.
