Two Cars Damaged In Collision Here Autos Collide At Street Intersection Two cars were badly damaged in an accident which occurred Wednesday at 4:25 p.m at the intersection at Nuttman avenue and Ninth street. Drivers of the vehicles involved were Charles Hosier, 29, of Decatur route three, and Leonard T. Meyer, 52, of 409 West Jefferson street. Meyer had stopped on Ninth street for the stop sign and then proceeded out into the intersection, failing to see the approaching Hosier vehicle. Hosier tried to stop but skidded on wet leaves into the right side of the Meyer car. Damage was estimated at $l5O to the Hosier car and S3OO to the Meyer vehicle. Only minor damage was caused in an accident which was reported to the police Wednesday night. It occurred at 10 p.m. on Monroe street extended in front of the Community Center. A parked car, operated by David Richard Butcher. 18, of 1062 Russell street, was hit by a car driven, by Linda Jackson, 16, of 828 Parkview drive. Damage to the Butcher car was estimated at $45. There was no damage to the other vehicle. A lamp post at the corner of Eighth and Monroe streets was knocked over at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday when it was hit by a truck driven by Richard L. Young, 32, of Wapakoneta, O. Young was making a right turn and the rear of the truck hit the post. There was no damage to the truck. Plan Entertainment At Elks Saturday An evening of special entertainment will be held at the Decatur Elks lodge Saturday night. Included in the entertainment willJbe a floor show, starting promptly at 10 o'clock. There will be no admission charged and all members and their wives or sweethearts are urged to attend. Ohio Historian To Speak Here Tuesday “A Delicate Affair” will be the title of the speech by Richard Knopf, historian of the Ohio Anthony Wayne Parkway board, when r he addresses a meeting sponsored by the Indiana Anthony Wayne •Parkway commission Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Decatur library. The members of the recently formed Adams county historical society have been invited to hear Knopf, who will explain the job done by Indian and part-Indian spies during the Anthony Wayne campaign through this area in 1794. The Indiana Anthony Wayne parkway commission, appoiiited by the governor under the direction of the state legislature, is concerned with marking and publicizing theroute -of- Gen. • Wayne ' through Indiana, including his return trip to Fort Greeneville along the “W’ayne Trace" through Adams county. Erie Railroad Net Income Is Reported NEW YORK — Erie Railroad net income for nine months was $2,323,682, equal to earning 76 cents a share of common stock, Harry W. Von Willer, president, announced today. This compares with $5,358,658 earned in the same period last year, or $2 per common share. Gross revenues for the first three-quarters of the year were $130,241,949 a slight increase compared with $129,554,266 in the same period in 1956. Expenses were $106,912,232 against $102,586,318 last year, an increase of $4,325,914. or 4.2 percent. , September gross revenues were $14,309,396 compared with $14,763.147 a year ago, a decrease of $453,751, or 3.1 percent. Expenses increased $21,989, or two-thirds of one percent during the month totalling $11,114,803 compared with $11,136,792 a year ago.
