There are still no tangible clues on the $50,000 Fort Wayne bank ropery and while police officers, FB| agents and state police keep searching the bandits apparently hatfe made a safe getaway for the present. It was a bold but well planned robbery and it may take ye<rs to solve, but a best guess would be that sooner or later the robbers will get bolder and bolder jand some time one of them will confide their part in the robwhich will start solution of the? whole thing. *4 * —O—-o— Stocial science teachers of Adims county have received an interesting packet from the Adorns county Farm Bureau Coop,; with several pamphlets, explaining the many functions of that Co-op and why it was organized. Attendance is growing daily at the Youth and Community Center and Decatur’s young men and women make good use of the building every day. It’s a wonderful place for the spending of a few leisure hours and it is well managed and supervised. Dick Linn, new director of the activities is doing a great job. -—o o Hundreds of people have not forgotten that there were two fatal automobile mishaps in Adams county this summer which were brushed off by some officials as strictly accidents and not worthy of investigating. This is not the attitude of the majority and they surely will speak out in the only way they can, that is in the next primary election. Lives were lost and to date one man has paid a email fine in Justice of Peace court for driving “left of center.” Morally and legally the good people of the county certainly are entitled to a thorough investigation and a public statement pertaining to the findings. o o Queen Elizabeth and her husband of Great Britain have endeared themselves in the hearts of thousands 6f Americans. They : spent a week in the United States and surely both passed the American test of being “fine folks”. They have done much to make a friendlier feeling among people of the world and they will be long remembered as “model citizens.” Their tremendous and trying schedule moved along without a hitch and people boarded their homeward-bound plane Monday night. The American people will remember their visit as long as will Her Majesty and her husband. o o One of eleven Adams county young women will be named Soybean Queen Thursday at the annual Soybean festival and ruralurban fish fry. Any one of the eleven entrants is well qualified li. by personality, ability and looks to be Queen, so the judges can’t be far wrong in their selection. It will be a great day for the merchants, farmers and just plain citizens and should draw a record crowd. The fish fry is reported to be a sell-out and no doubt there will be a huge crowd at the other events planned for the day. The annual event does much to solidify the fine feeling between the farmers and the people of Decatur.
