BEVERLY ANN EHRSAM WEDS PAUL BUTLER MiSs Beverly Ann Ehrsam, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Ehrsam of Pleasant Mills, became the bride of Paul Allen Butler Wednesday evening at 7 o’clock at the Pleasant Mills Methodist church. The bridegroom Is the son of Mr. and Ufa’s. Hubert Butler, of Decatur route five. The double-ring ceremony took place on the wedding anniversary of the bride’s only sister, Mrs. Wayne Clouse of near Decatur, who served as her honor atendant. The Rev. Carlyle Seiple officated. For the ceremony the church was decorated with floor baskets of white and pink gladiolus, arrangements of ferns and candelabra. The pews were marked with, white satin bows. Mrs. Helen Ehrsam, an aunt of the bride, was organist for the musicale and Miss Marilyn Seiple was vocalist. The wedding music included “Always," “I Love You Truly,” “Walk Hand in Hand," “Because,” and the traditional wedding march. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a gown of white bridal satin and lace. It featured a fitted bodice overlaid with the lace and a shoulder line accented with lace and rhinestones. The long sleeves were also of the lace. *The full skirt was fashioned with a wide peplum and a chapel-length train. Her veil was secured with a half, crown of lace trimmed with pearls and rhinestones. She carried an orchid atop a -white Bible. Mrs. Clouse, the matron of honor, wore a gown of vassar rose nylon chiffon accented with, pale pink chiffon. It was fashioned with a shirred bodice and a ccftvl neckline with two floating panels to the hemline of the very full waltzlength skirt. Her headpiece was a half crown of sequins and a circular veil. Miss Judy Ann Bollenbacher of Pleasant Mills, a close friend of the bride, was bridesmaid. She was attired like the matron of honor. Both of the attendants carried bouquets of white carnations trimmed with pink edging Tom and Joe Butler, brothers of the bridegroom, attended him. Ushers were Jack Butler, another brother of the bridegroom, and Richard Ehrsam, brother of the bride. Mrs. Ehrsam attended her daughter’s wedding in a gray, black and white jersey ensemble complemented with red accessories and a corsage of carnations. The bridegroom’s mother wore navy .blue accented with pink accessories and the carnation corsage. Serving approximately 100 guests at the reception which followed in the church basement were Miss Linda Schott of Decatur, Miss Betty Meyers of near Pleasant Mills and Miss J Raudenbush and Miss Judy Williamson, both of near Decatur. For the reception the serving table was covered with a white linen table cloth surrounded with a skirt of white net over taffeta, and satin pompons. A three tier wedding cake centered the table which was decorated in a pink and white theme. For traveling the bride changed to frock of yellow soft combed cotton with black accessories. She wore the orchid of her bridal bouquet. The couple will reside on Decatur route five following their return from a trip to Niagara Falls. Both Mr. and Mrs. Butler are graduates of Pleasant Mills high school. The bride is employed at the Sears & Roebuck store in Decatur and the bridegroom is an employe of Central Soya company. BETA SIGMA PHI COUNCIL MEETS The regular meeting of the Beta Sigma Phi council took place Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Ferris Bower. Attending the meeting were representatives of the four local chapters of the sorority. Epsilon Sigma, Xi Alpha Xi, Xi Alpha lota exemplar and Delta Lambda, A social hour followed the business session. Mrs. Bower served refreshments. SHAKESPEARE CLUB MEETS WEDNESDAY A talk on Japan, presented by Dick Heller, Jr., was featured at the first meeting of the year for the Ladies Shakespeare club Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Dan Tyndall. Mrs. George Buckley presided at the meeting, which 18 members attended. Mrs. John Heller was in charge of the program which was presented by her grandson. He showed pictures taken in Hawaii and the Japanese Islands. He described the Japanese manner of living, their religious and also told of his experiences in climbing Mt. Fujiyama. He showed some of the art work and other sourveniers of Japan. Following his talk was a short business meeting and a social hour, during which tea was served. Presiding at the tea table was Mrs. Buckley. The social committee included Mrs. Lois Black, chairman, and Mrs. Fred Smith, Mrs. Stuart Brightwell and Mrs. Tyndall.

DEGREE TEAM TO GLENDORF The degree team of the Decatur Catholic Ladies of Columbia will go to Glendorf. 0., Sunday, Oct. 13, where they will conduct initiation rites for a large class of candidates of the C. L. C. organization there. ; Supreme trustee, Mrs. Ruth Keller of Decatur, and the members of the local degree team will be guests at a banquet following the ceremonies. Rehearsal for the degree team has been scheduled for this Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the K. of C. hall. GECODE CLUB HAS HALLOWEEN PARTY "Halloween fun for everyone” was the theme of a party Wednesday noon for members of the night shift girls of the GeCode club. The party took place at the Fairchild garage. The garage and tables were decorated with witches, skeletons, cats, pumpkins and bittersweet. ( Four guests and 17 members were present for the family style dinner. Games, contests and entertainment followed the dinner and prizes were awarded to several of those attending. NURSES OF DISTRICT WILL MEET TUESDAY General duty nurses of district one will hold their first fall meeting at 8 purn. Tuesday at the Ve- , terans hospital in Fort Wayne The speakers will be Delores Collins, of the Veterans hospital, and Mary Dormire, of St. Joseph’s hospital. The program will be on functions, qualifications and standards. Discussions are scheduled on tentative minimum employment standards for general dury, head nurse, salary increase, vacation time and personnel policies improvement. Legora Markle, of the Veterans hospital, is chairman of the section. MRS. BYERLY HOSTS E.U.B. CHURCH CLASS Mrs. Dean Byerly was hostess Tuesday evening at her home for the regular monthly meeting of the Dutiful Daughters class of the Evangelical United Brethren Church. Fifteen members attended the meeting, which was conducted by Mrs. ' Fred McConnell, president. Mrs. R. K. McConnell had charge of devotions. A social hour followed during which Mrs. Byerly, assisted by Mrs. Fred served refreshment*

SCHEDULES INTERNATIONAL FORUM The international relations committee of the Decatur Business and Professional Women’s club will present an international forum at a dinner meeting of the club Wednesday at 6.30 p. m. at the Dutch Mill in Bluffton. Dinner reservations must be placed with Mrs. Nelson Doty by Monday at 5 p. m. Guests have been invited to attend the meeting. ... . A special guest of the club will be Mrs. Mildred Hill of Peru, district director of the fifth district, who is making her annual visit to the club.
