MISS BEVERLY ANN EHRSAM IS HONORED WITH SHOWER Miss Beverly Ann Ehrsam, October 2 bride-elect of Paul Butler, was the guest of honor at a mis-, cellaneous bridal shower, given Friday evening at the Pleasant Mills Methodist church. Hostesses for the event were Mrs. John Bailey. Mrs. R. H. Frey, Mrs. Donald Everett and Miss Judy Bollenbacher. The entertaining room had been attractively decorated for the occasion, with pink and white streamers throughout. Highlight of the wedding decorations was a large white boat with a miniature bride and groom sailing on the “sea of matrimony.” A corsage was presented to the Pleasant Mills bride-elect upon her arrival, after which the guests autographed a pair of pillow cases for her trousseau. Appropriate bridal contests were played, and a reading, “My What a Wedding,” was given by Mrs. John Bailey. UNION TOWNSHIP CLUB MEETS WITH MRS. DREW The home demonstration club of Union township met recently at the home of Mrs. Thurman Drew, with Mrs. Paul Morgan as assisting hostess. Mrs. Rolland Gilliom, club president, had charge of the meeting, and led the group in repeating the club creed, after which they sang the club prayer. Mrs. Morgan led roll call, to which members answered by naming a school problem, past or present. The lesson for the afternoon, entitled “Dapgers of Self-medica-tion.” was presented by Mrs. Chalmer Barkley. “Civil Rights” was the topic of the citizenship lesson, given by Mrs. Thearl Stults, followed by the health lesson, “The health aspect of agiug,” given by Mrs. Hugh Nidlinger. Mrs. Nellie Price, Mrs. Archie Smitley and Mrs. Morgan were appointed on the nominating committee, to be in charge of the club election, whlcn wlil be held October 23. It was announced that Mrs. Stults will represent the club on achievement day, which is scheduled for October 19. In closing, the group sang the song of the month, “My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean,” followed by the dismissal prayer, led by Mrs. Nile Williamson. During the social hour, refreshments were served to 19 members, six children and guests, Mrs. Paul Bevelhimer and Mrs. Williamson. The next meeting will be in the form of a “hobo party,” to be held at the home of Mrs. Earl Chase Oct. 23. Mrs. Basil Gephart will be the assisting hostess, and members are too come dressed a cording to the theme, or will be fined. Margaret Heimann Wed This Morning To Louis T. Savieo The Very Rev. Msgr. J. J. Seimetz celebrated the nuptial mass following the marriage of Miss Margaret R. Heimann and Louis T. Savieo, which took-i place at 9 a.m. today in St. Mary’s Catholic church. The double-ring ceremony was performed before the main altar of the church, which was graced with baskets of pink and white gladioli. Sr. M. Margaretta, C.S.A., was organist, and the mass was sung by the men’s choir of the church, under the direction of Ed Heimann. “Remember Holy Mother,” was sung following the mass. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Heimann, of route 4, Decatur, are parents of the bride, and the bridegroom is the youngest son of Mrs. Fred Savieo, of near Monroeville. Given in marriage by her father. the bride was gowned in Italian dupioni silk and re-embroider-ed alencon lace. The lace formed the portrait neckline of the basque bodice which was detailed by short sleeves, and tiny covered buttons centered down the back. Hipline panels of lace highlighted the very bouffant skirt of her gown, which swept into a brush train. Her fingertip veil of imported French illusion was caught to a lace crown sprinkled with seed pearls, and she carried an arran- — a was held Friday evening at the Legion home, under the direction of Mrs. Melvin Luhman, unit president. She was assisted by Mrs. Herman Colchin and Miss Alice Lake. Numerous game were played, with appropriate prizes awarded to the winners in each division. For bridge, prizes were won by Mrs. Joseph Kitson and Mrs. Henry Braun; for pinochle, Mrs. Ed Bauer and Mrs. Ben Eiting; for canasta, Miss Margaret Eiting and Mrs. Clyde Greigh, and for bunco, Mrs. Joseph Hunter. The door prize, donated by Mrs. Colchin. was awarded to Mrs. Harold Tieman. Mrs. Luhman and her committee served a light luncheon at the close of the meeting. MEETING OF P.T.A. gement of white feathered carnations, centered with a lavendar orchid. Miss Mary Heimann was her sister’s only atendant in a ballerina length gown of pink lace over taffeta. The bodice was fashioned with a scoop neckline, cap sleeves and a wide taffeta cummerbund. The bouffant skirt was circular. She carried a basket of lavendar asters and pink daisy mums. Frederick J. Savieo, brother of the bridegroom, attended as best man, and guests were seated by Charles Heimann and Edwin Savieo. Mrs. Heimann attended her daughter’s wedding in a navy jersey ensemble, and Mrs. Savieo wore a gray rayon outfit. Both mothers complemented their attire with corsages of red rosebuds. Forty guests attended the wedding dinner, which was served at the Fairway restaurant at noon. The newlyweds will greet other guests at a reception to be held from 2 until 4 p.m. today, at the American Legion home. Serving the guests will be the Misses Jean Kable, Phyllis Braun, and Rheta Butcher, and Mrs. Richard Shell,. Miss Martha Kelly will be gift registrar. Mrs. Savieo, a graduate of Decatur Catholic high school, is employedby the Adams county abstract company, and her husband is an employe of the International Harvester company 'in Fort Wayne. He was graduated from Monroeville high school. was held recently at the Northwest school, for the first executive meeting of the new school year. Mrs. John Kelley, association president, conducted the business session. Each committee was informed of individual duties, and the budget for the school year was read and approved. The association Is striving for a 100% membership this year, and Mrs. Vernon Hill. membership chairman, reported on the drive now underway. First actual meeting of the association will be held October 10, with the time and program to be announced later.

XI ALPI|A XI CHAPTER MEETS AFTER STYLE SHOW Mrs. Helen Howell and Mrs. James Elberson entertained the members of the Xi Alpha Xi exemplar chapter of Beta Sigma Phi recently at the Elberson home. Members met in the lobby of the youth and Community center where they attended the Psi lota Xi style show, after which they returned to the Elberson home for their regular meeting. During the business sessions, plans for the coming year were discussed, and Mrs. George Bair presented the group ‘with the jiar’s program and study books. ,Mrs. Glenn Hill, chairman of the cultural program, presented the lesson subject, entitled “Conversation.” The hostesses served refreshments during the social hour which followed the meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Miller and son Gene, and daughter Mrs. Robert Rumschlag, returned to Decatur Friday from Indianapolis, where Miller had beep a patient at the Robert Long hospital. For the past week he had been undergoing examinations and consultations with a heart specialist there. Reinhold “Bud” Sauer, of 1328 Master Drive, is a patient at St. Joseph hospital in Fort Wayne, where he underwent surgery Thursday. He is in room 674. Mr. and Mrs. Claud Briggs, of Hobart, have returned to their home after visiting several days with Mrs. Briggs’ sister, Mrs. Eugene Runyon, of 103 South Fourth street. Ransom Smith, of Monroe township, has been a subscriber to the Decatur Daily Democrat since it became a daily in 1903, 54 years ago. Reorganize Miami County Rural Youth Plans have been completed for the reorganization of the Miami county rural youth tlub as announced by Glgrja district IV rural youth president. The meeting will be held Wednesday evening at the Miami county 4,-H club building in Peru. All rural young people from Miami county have been invited to this meeting and rural youth members from nearby counties are urged to attend. Earlier this year, a rural youth club in Blackford county was reorganized. After the Miami county rural youth reorganization, all 10 counties in district IV will have ac. tive rural youth organizations. Any Adams county rural youth members wishing to attend the Miami county meeting Wednesday evening are asked to contact Gloria Koeneman at the county extension office. ~
