ADENAUER (Contlnusd from Page One) many’s weU-fed millions never had it so good. They have full employment, hUI bellies and booming prosperity, and they got them under the. Adenauer regime. That was an argument the Sociaists never could hope to dent. A second but important reason was fear of what might happen to this country bang up against the Iron Curtain if the Socialists won power and attempted a switch to a neutralist foreign policy. 10 KILLED (Continued from Page Ons) fog, silhouetting the broken fuselage. It was suspended in trees with the right side of the tail six feet off the ground. The left wing and left tail were sheared off. The left underside was ripped open. The nose was partly buried in mud 50 feet awayThe silver airliner, flight 285, had taken off from Boston’s Logan Airport at 5:50 p.m. e.d.L and had stopped at* Hyannis on Cape Cod, and the‘vacation islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. The plane was to make a call at New Bedford’s Municipl Airport before continuing on to La Guardia Field, New York. Drops Suddenly While circling Municipal Airport for a landing, the plane suddenly dropped to the ground, disappearing behind thick trees. So dense were the trees, the wreckage was not found until 11:10 p.m., more than two hours after the crash. Rescue operations were slowed down by the inaccessibility of the swamp Ambulances, trucks and fire apparatus had to travel slowly single file over the only dirt road. A small stream on the edge of the bog had to be bridged with ladders. Wesley Magoon, on duty at the New Bedford Airport control tower. said the airliner pilot called him at 8:46 p.m. reporting he was over the air po r t’s outer marker and about four minutes from a landing. Visibility was one mile and the pilot said he expected to make a routine instrument landing. After a few minutes had passed, and he had received no further radio report from the plane, Magoon notified Northeast officials. Jehovah's Witnesses Will Meet Tonight James W.' Johnson, circuit minister of Jehovah’s Witnesses in this area, and Ernest Wuebbenhorst, of Fort Wayne, will discuss plans at a meeting to be held at Kendallville tonight. The meeting will be attended by upward of 35 principal ministers of the group from southern Michigan, northern Indiana and Ohio to discuss plans for a circuit assembly of Jehovah's Witnesses to be held at Elkhart, Nov. 1-3 at the high school. Among the subjects to be discussed, Johnson stated, will be rooming accomodations for many of the 1500 delegates expected to attend from the tri-state area, cafeteria arrangements for the visiting delegates and effective methods of advertising the sessions to be conducted for the benefit of the public. Four ministers from the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses will attend the meeting tonight at Kendallville.
