Hurricane Carrie Almost Stationary MIAMI (IP) — Hurricane Carrie, still potent despite weakening to 116-mile-an-hour winds, fallowed almost stationary-‘today in the Atlantic, 1,750 miles east-southeast of Miami while waiting to “make a decision” on whether to swing away from the mainland. Forecasters at the Weather Bureau’s hurricane center in Miami said the next few hours probably will determine whether the raging storm will hit the U.S. mainland or veer into the North Atlantic.
