8080 CROSSING IMPROVED J M X fl I I IJj il i %g& .illfl jrIWffiLIJBaMBMM| EARL SMITH, foreman, and Lawrence Mac Lean and Robert Mei> dez, trackmen, are busy here at the Bobo crossing of the Erie railroad, improving the formerly rough spot. Work will continue at the crossing for at least another month, as the south track is being raised 22 inches to the height of the north trrfck to smooth the crossing. There have been 20 carloads of gravel used so far, and another 20 carloads will be used to complete the job. The track must be raised about eight inches at a time, allowing settling under the heavy train traffic. Five raises will be necessary. Flashing signals will replace the present wooden railroad warning, and highway 101 will be widened to 24 feet at the crossing. (Staff Photo)
