DCHS CLASS OF 1937 HAS FIRST REUNION SATURDAY Members o! the 1937 graduating class of Decatur Catholic high school convened at the Knights of Columbus hall Saturday evening, for their first reunion since gradnation, 20 years ago. No definite entertainment was planned for the evening, and it was reported that the major part of the evening was spent in each of the graduates relating experiences of the past two decades. A buffet luncheon was available throughout the evening, and the, group enjoyed dancing and taking part in numerous other games and contests. > Only three members of the original class of 16 graduates were unable to attend the reunion. They are Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Rodenbeck (the former Esttef Rumschlag), of St. Henry, Ohio; Sister Martha Ann, (the former Marjorie Braun), of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Father Vincent Lengerich of Fort Wayne. Out of town members attending included Mr. and Mrs. Fred Voglewede, of Mexico City, Mex.; Dr. G. Remy Bierly, Jr., of Louisville, Ky., and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Laisure, (Genevieve Ripberger, of Fort Wayne. Decatur residents attending were Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Hain, (Mary Catherine Holthouse): Mr. and Mrs. John Richard Eichhorn, (Loretta Rose Loshe); Mr. and Mrs. Mark Schurger, (Virginia Bornes); Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Lengerich, (Margaret Wolpert); Frances Loshe Koors; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cook; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph, Kreigle, (Martha Jane Foos); Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Tricker; Miss Josephine Wolpert and Miss Mary Martha Treveer. * A committee of local residents was appointed to make plans for another reunion of the group, to be held in 1958.

FIRST REUNION OF DHS CLASS OF 1942 IS HELD Thirty-one members and their husbands or wives of the graduating class of Decatur high school were present for the first reunion of that group, held Sunday, at the Youth and Community center. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. W. Guy Brown, and Mr. and Mrs. Garlard Hardy, of Muncie. Mrs. Hardy is the former Mildred Worthman sponsor of the class. Dinner was served at the noon hour, followed by the afternoon of reminiscing and getting re-ac-quainted. Graduates still living in Decatur who attended Sunday’s festivities include Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Andrews; Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Doty, (Vera Bauer); Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Franz, (Mary Borne); Mr. and Mrs. Ted Eyanson, (Alice Brunnegraff); Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stonestreet, (Thais Baumgartner); Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gause, (Harriet Elzey); Mr. and Mrs. James Colter; Mr. and Mrs. James Hunter; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Linn; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Strahm, (Mildred Marshall); Jay Martin; Bernard Meyer; Mr. and Mrs. James Strickler, Jr.; Mr. and Mrs. Robet Yost; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Freidt, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Eichhorn. Out of town graduates attending included the following: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Drake, (Patricia Baughn); Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Beery, and Mrs. Burton Louth, (Pat Garrard), all of Fort Wayne; Mr. and Mrs. Rollie Affolder, of Muncie; Mr. and Mrs. Richard LaFontaine, (Loretta Kaehr), of Monroe; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Faulkner, Jr., (Florabelle Kohls), of Bluffton; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hirschy, (Jean Barkley), of Geneva; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Buckley, of Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Lynch, of New Carlisle; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Melchi, of Roanoke; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Whitted, of Gary, and Mr. and Mrs. Whitacre, (Peggy Sullivan), of San Lorenzo, Calif. > Three members of the class were killed while serving with the armed forces during World War 11. They are Lavern Kitchen, Fred Harding, and Dora Gallogly. Dick Linn and Bernard Meyer were appointed to head the committee to plan the next reunion, to be held in 1962. Mrs. Jesse E. Niblick, of 308 North Fifth street, will entertain the members of the Decatur Women’s Christian Temperance Union, Tuesday afternoon,' at 1:30 o’clock. All members are urged to attend this meeting. An afternoon meeting of the Zion Lutheran Needle club is slated for Thursday at 1 p.m., at the parish hall. Members of the Monroe Loyal Temperance Legion will be entertained at a potluck supper Thursday at 6 p.m., with hostesses being members of the Monroe Women’s Christian Temperance Union. The event will take place irj the Monroe Methodist church annex. A regular meeting of the Decatur Weight Watchers will be held Tuesday evening, at 8 o’clock, at the public library.

Police Bag Quail And Rabbitt, But Everything Is Legal City police bagged a Quail and a Rabbit over the weekend, but they were not violating the hunting laws. Earl Rabbit, 55, of 716 North 10th street, was arrested Sunday evening on a warrant charging disorderly conduct and Willard Quail, 30, of Fort Wayne, was charged with public intoxication after he was arrested on north Second street Saturday night. The warrant for Rabbitt’s arrest was issued on the cojnplaint of his neighbors who charged that the man exposed himself indecently and was seen by several of the neighbors including eight or nine children. He appeared in city court this morning and entered a plea of guilty. He was fined $lO and costs and was given a 60-day suspended sentence. Quail also appeared in city court today after spending the weekend in jail. Entering a plea of guilty, he was fined SI and costs. A six month sentence was suspended. He was taken back to jail for inability to pay his fine. Also arrested this weekend was Refugio Duron. 18, of Decatur route four, who was arrested Sunday at 2.45 a.m. at the corner of Third and Madison streets on a charge of public intoxication. He was fined $5 and costs in city court this morning and was sentenced to ten days in jail after entering a. guilty plea.

Teen Agers Held In Jail At Van Wert California Youths Face Theft Counts Six teenagers wanted in California' for residential burglary were captured late Friday afternoon five miles west of Van Wert. 0., by sheriff W. L. Clay of Van Wert county. The six, in the county jail in Van Wert awaiting arrival of California authorities, gave their names as: Richard Bell, 17, printer; Carl W. Rucker, Jr., 18, skin diver; Robert Wilson Dorsey, 18. mechanic; James W. Cremeans, 17, laborer; Gerald D. Paguette, 18, laborer; and Leonard E. Smith, 19, laborer, all of San Diego, Calif. Sheriff Clay was tipped off by San Diego police that the suspects were in the Convoy area. It happened that their car broke down as they were leaving the home of a friend of one of the boys, and one of the youths had just called his father in San Diego for money. Several knives and razors were taken from the youths, who refused to do any talking. All except Bell were known to have jumped $2,000 bonds on felony charges in San Diego. Legion Heads In Stale Conference Commanders Map Plans For New Year INDIANAPOLIS <UP) — More than 425 commanders and adjutants of Indiana American Legion posts attended a meeting Sunday to discuss Legion plans for aiding communities in 1958. The session w’as held at the request of department commander Robert E. Gates. William A. Brennan Jr., Indianapolis, chairman of the newlycreated Department Community Service Coordinating Committee, outlined the “Boost Your Hometown and Build Indiana’' program set up by the Legion. The program calls for every one of the state’s 459 Legion posts to pledge itself during 1958 to the “fulfilling of its community’s greatest need.” Brennan said each post will survey its city’s needs and report back to his committee. A special team from Bluffton Legion post presented a skit on how a model post meeting should be conducted. "This was. the greatest assembly of American Legion post executives in Indiana in the 39-year history of the department,” Gates said. onga farms, and Loris Steury, of Kirkland township, attended the annual Purdue swine day with county agent Leo Seltenright Friday. More than 3,000 state farmers enjoyed the day’s tour of the Purdue swine farm, where experimental work in dry feed rations, hormones, and other work, is being carried out. During the afternoon, speakers from all parts of the nation gave the group the latest information on hog farming, including a description of the new swine evaluation station. Says Several Spies Will Be Indicted WASHINGTON (UP)-Counter-spy Boris Morros says a number of Americans including two mystery sisters are working as Soviet spies and soon may be indicted. Morros, who went underground for 12 years and helped crack a Soviet espionage ring, said several of the Americans aye working overseas for the U.S. government. One of the sisters is married tc an aotmic scientist at Los Alamos. N.M., he said. '

Miss Maty Lou Lewton, 16-year-old daughter of county clerk Richard Lewton, is reported in satisfactory condition following an emergency appendectomy Friday evening. She is a patient at the Adams county memorial hospital. Her room number is 114. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Liacopoulos, of Columbus, Ohio, spent the past week-end visiting with relatives in Decatur. Mrs. Liacopoulos is the former Marylyn Joanne Smith. Rev. and Mrs. Harold J. Bond and family of Bay City, Mich, were Decatur visitors over the week-end and Rev. Bond was guest minister at the Decatur First Presbyterian church, where there is a pastoral vacancy. Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Lenhart of Traverse City, Mich, were Decatur visitors over last week-end. The Lenhyts are former Decatur residents. Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Thomas have returned to Decatur from Florida. Mr. Thomas is Lincoln school principal. Miss Dianne Shipman, of Defiance. 0., started work today at the Adams county memorial hospital as laboratory and X-ray technician.
