Urge Early Buying Slate Fair Tickets Capacity Crowds M Expected At Shows “First come, first served . . .” This is the familiar way of dispensing everything from soup to front' row seats. It is also the method used by the Indiana state fair in filling ticket orders for the 1957 coliseum and grandstand shows. With capacity crowds expected for the state fair shows, the ticket department recommends writing today, to the State Fair Ticket Qffice, Indianapolis, 5, Ind., for tickets. Ticket sales increase every week, Mel Ross, ticket director, reported today. The Pat Boone-Geor-gia Gibbs coliseum attraction is the best seller to date, with the other productions running close behind. Ross added. Lowell G. Taylor, president of the Fair Board, and Gibson County resident, believes that the shows for the 1957 fair are all tops of their type. Taylor added, “Personally, I feel that all the entertainment scheduled this year is the best in the country.” All of the shows this year are geared to please all types of Hoosiers and were especially chosen to provide wholesome family entertainment. The coliseum shows will spotlight Pat Boone and Mi§s Georgia Gibbs the first three days with Guy Mitchell and Joni James taking over the last two days. The $50,000 horse show with Jan Garber's orchestra will be featured from September 1. until the close of the fair on September (5. The grandstand attractions Include the all-western horse show, Smiley Burnette, Kenne- Duncan, grand circuit harness racing, the State Fair follies of 1957 and Aut Swenson’s Thrillcade. The Indiana state fair is scheduled from August 28 through September 6. CIVIL RIGHTS (Continued from Pare Owl vaccine prices due to resume at Trenton. N.J., should be broad'to cover other drugs. The legislation, the first requested by any administration to up tariffs since the tariff-reducing reciprocal trade program went into effect in 1934, is before the House Ways & Means Committee. Backers' .report they have the votes to get the legislation through Congress before adjournment, but key Democrats on the committee hope to prevent it from being j sent to the floor. British Princess Observes Birthday Princess Anne Is Seven Years Old LONDON (UP)—Princess Anne celebrated her 7th birthday today in, the middle of a new where-will-she-go-to-school controversy. The Queen already has decided to send Anne’s big brother Charles to Cheam, the old school where Prince Philip began his formal education in 1930. “Pitty,”, said Lord Altrincham who has recently gained fame as a critic of royal activities. “I am very sorry to hear it." The outspoken young lord also suggested that Anne be given a more "democratic” schooling and go to state classes with children from all walks of life. There appeared no chance that the critics would have their way, but some British papers suggested today that Anne might leave her palace lessons for classes in a private school. The mischievous princess with her bouncing blonde curls celebrated today's birthday with a touch of sadness not brought on by the controversy oVer her schooling. Charles leaves for his upper class boarding school next month and there will be no more giggling games of hide and seek through the red carpeted halls of the palace Anne and Charles call home. There also will be no more regular family gatherings of the two children with *ne Queen and Prince. The birthday gathering around the family tea table at Balmoral Castle this afternoon and the remainder of their time together during this late summer holiday in Scotland will be the last long hours Anne and 8-year-old Charles will have together until Christmas. Speeding Output Os Asiatic Flu Vaccine 25 Million Shots Ready In October WASHINGTON (UPI-Industry sources said today there is likely to be “quite a lot” of vaccine available to protect the public against Asiatic flu by Oct. 15. - These sources told the United Press it would be a “pretty good guess” as many as 25 million shots would be produced by mid-Octo-ber. After that they said drug makers will be geared to turn out five million shots a week—if the public is using the vaccine. But they pointed out the six major drug firms making the vaccine are taking what amounts to a huge gamble by investing 10 million dollars in full-scale production without assurance the public will take the shots. They noted the government is not subsidizing production and the risk is strictly the industry’s own, taken at the government's, urging. They said if the public does not start widespread use of the vaccine by October or November at the latest, the industry will have to start tapering off production. That possibility is a major reason why the government and drug makers are gearing for an all-out campaign to sell the public on the value of getting the vaccine shots. The U.S. Public Health Service is preparing to use posters, radio, newspapers and community organizations to urge every American who can to get the vaccine shots as soon as they are available. The Health Service says one shot of the vaccine is all that is recommended. and should provide at least 70 per cent protection against getting the Asiatic flu.
