Young Driver Hurt In Accident Sunday Decatur Youth Hurt } In One-Car Wreck Sheriff Merle Affolder invest!* gated an accident early Sunday morning, in which the driver of the only car involved was injured.
The accident oceurred at 1:15 a.th., as the e*r driveh by Charles Judt. 20. at SM Studebaker street, failed to negotiate • turn at the junction of the Hoagland road and U. S. 27. Judt was traveling > south on the Hoagland road, which spreads into an S turn before connecting with the highway. Judt was reported to be traveling too fast for conditions, and instead of making the wide curve to the left, hie car went straight, skidded accross the triangle between the two roads, blowing a tire, careened acCross the highway and landed in a ditch. He was brought to the local hospital, where he was treated for lacerations about the head. It was first believed his right shoulder was broken, but X-rays revealed that ij was only bruised. The youth was dismissed from the hospital early Sunday evening, but returned this morning for further examination. Affolder estimated damage to the car to be approximately 13.50. Suffers Split Lip In Brawl Saturday Kenneth Manley, of St. Mary’s township, suffered a split lip in a brawl outside of a Decatur tavern Saturday night. Manley stat-

He reported to the Adams county memorial hospital for treatment as an out-patient. John Herman Lemper Dies At Fort Wayne John Herman Lemper, 73. retired Pennsylvania railroad accountant, died Saturday at St. Joseph's hospital in Fort Wayne. Surviving are the wife, Louise; one son, Alfred of Sharon Hill, Pa.; two daughters, Mrs. Marcella DeSutter of Whiting, and Mrs. Mary Jane Clymer of Ardmore, Pa.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Georgean Franklin of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Delores Welsch of Decatur; one stepson, Robert E. Kock of Great Lakes, Ill.; two brothers. Henry of Auburn, and Edward of Avilla, and two sisters, Mrs- Frances Traxler of Kendallville, and Mrs. Mary Lash of Avilla. Services will be held at 8:30 a. m. Tuesday at the Tom Mungovan funeral home and at 9 a. m. at St. Peter s Catholic church. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery in Fort Wayne.

Margaret Eversole Is Taken By Death Mrs. Margaret Motz Eversole, 91, of Linn Grove, died at 6:15 p. m. Saturday at the Berne nursing home. She had been bedfast one week. She was a member of the Linn Grove Congregational Christian church. Surviving are a son, Lloyd E. of Avon Lake, O.; a daughter, Mrs. Rufus Meshberger of Linn Grove: seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She resided for the past three winters with a granddaughter, ■ Mrs. Lawrence Rash, 224 North 12th street. Services will be held at 10 a. m. Tuesday at the Yager funeral home in Berne, with burial in Greenwood cemetery, Linn Grove. Will Attend State Rural Youth Camp Seven* members of the Adams county rural youth will attend the state rural youth camp at Mirom Institute on the Wabash river, near Vincennes, this week. The group will leave Wednesday and return Sunday. Three of the group, Legora Markle, of Decatur, Sally McCullough, of St. Mary’s township, and Gloria Koeneman, of Preble township, are attending for the third year. The first-year members are Alice Kukelhan. of Root township; Marva Schaefer, of Preble township: and Bill Briant and Wendeldean Roth. Classes, speakers, sports, vespers, and recreation will be enjoyed by the group. Two days will be spent at SkakamAk state park where swimming and other sports will be permitted. Miss Markle will be on the snack committee; Miss McCullough on the Sunday school committee; and Miss Koeneman will be chairman of the public speaking class, and have charge of Thursday night vesper services.

It is necessary to remove 2 poles and set 3 new poles and transfer the 13,200 volt power line from the south side to the north side of U. S. Road 221. The power will be turned off from approximately 1:00 P. M. to 2:30 P. M. Wednesday afternoon. This will effect the greater part of Union Township, a part of Root Township, a part of Washington, a part of St. Marys, and a part of Allen County, or all patrons on and along the 13,200 volt line. Mann will join his family the end of this week. The Manns are from Chattanooga, , Tenn. Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Feasel and Vicky Ann, Timmy and Susie, have returned from Papakeechie Lake, near Syracuse.
