Mary Ann Bender Is Wed Saturday To Donald Dale At 6:30 p.m., Saturday in the rectory of the St. Mary's Catholic church, Mrs. Mary Ann Bender, youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Lengerich, and Donald Dale, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Death, were united in marriage, the Rev. Father Contant officiating at the double-ring rite. Blue lace over taffeta fashioned the gown of the bride. It featured a draped neckline that extended to a V neckline and a panel floating to the hem of the skirt. She» wore a lace-effect hat, and carried a bouquet of pink roses and carnations with stephanotis. Mrs. Richard Lengerich, sister-in-law of the bride, from Monroe, attended as matron of honor in a yellow gown almost identical in style to the bride's. Her headdress was like the bride’s also, and she carried a bouquet of yellow roses with blue scattered carnations. VFW AUXILIARY SLATES PUBLIC PARTY FOR JULY 16 VFW auxiliary announced a public party, slated for July 16. after its business meeting Monday evening. That Tuesday, at 8 p.m., the auxiliary plans the party to be held at the VFW home. All donations are to be brought to the Post home on or before the sixteenth. Fifteen members were present, and th door prize was awarded to Jean Reidenbach, while the booby prize was presented to Audrey Ballard. Glenys Marta served the members after the meeting.

MISS ANN RUBLE SURPRISED WITH BRIDAL SHOWER Miss Ann Ruble was guest of honor at a surprise bridal shower given for her Monday evening by Mrs. Roxy Ruble, Mrs. Tom Ruble, and Miss Judy Ruble at the latter’s home. Former Decatur Lady Dies Last Evening Friends here have received word ‘ of the death of Mrs. Harley Franklin, of Crismer, at 7:15 o’clock Thursday evening in an East Gary hospital. Her husband was a former pastor of the Trinity United Brethren church in this city. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lutheran church in Crismer. Mrs. Frances Anderson, wife of Berne’s new coach, William Anderson, will replace Miss Rose Sprunger as second grade teacher in the Berne-French school. Miss Sprunger resigned due to ill health. ' Sispon Schwartz, editor of the Berpe Witness, returned to his home Tuesday following an operation in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, for kidney stones. Bluffton retailers have adopted Friday night store hours, and will close at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The tile mill road south of Berne to the Wabash river-Ceylop road" will open Monday. It has been blacktopped by the county highway department. J. Gordon Jackson of Goshen will direct the construction of the $600,000 addition to the First Mennonite church in Berne. Mj-s. Artie Jackson is recovering from recent surgery performed at the Adams county memorial hospital. She is at home now, on Decatur route three. Miss Nancy Kirsch left today for Bend, Ore., where she will become associated with the clinic in that city. Miss Kirsch is a graduate of the Ball State school of nursing. Today, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lower are returning to Yonkers, N. Y., after spending two weeks with Mrs. Homer D. Lower, of Decatur, and friends in Bluffton and Decatur. Mrs. Arthur Voglewede and daughters, Mary Lou and Alice, left yesterday for a vacation of several weeks at Coldwater, Mich-, where they have a cottage rented for the summer. This morning, Tear! Schock, of Midland, Mich., and Mrs. John Geimer, Colman, Mich., left for home after visiting their sisters, Mrs. Lucy Miller, and Mrs. Sam Diehl,.in Decatur. Mr. and Mrs. David Baker and daughters Kathleen and Rosemary, returned home Thursday after a month’s trip through western states. Drowning Victim's Body Is Recovered INDIANAPOLIS (UP) — The body of Miss Brenda Duriss, 17, Indianapolis, who drowned Sunday when she was swept downstream while wading in flood waters of White River, was recovered Thursday by two sheriff's deputies. The body of Eugene Brarne, 27’ Indianapolis, who drowned while trying to rescue Miss Durrison was recovered last Tuesday. I
