BUSS BAILEY FETED WITH SURPRISE BRIDAL SHOWER Miss Wanda Bailey was surprised at her home Monday evening with a miscellaneous shower giv?n by Mrs, Herbert Foor of Payne, 0., and Mrs. R. H. Everett, Pleasant Mills. Miss Bailey is the bride-elect of Ralph Boyd. They will be wed
July 27. The honored guest received a corsage of delicate pink carnations and was seated in a chair decorated in mint green and trimmed with pink roses. A mint green umbrella centered the gift table and small umbrellas were used as favors, and also adorned the game books. Contests were played and prizes won by the Mesdames Dent Baltzell, Elmer Goliff, Robert Light, and Laura Davis, who presented these gifts to the bride-to-be. All present wrote a line of advice to give to Miss Bailey. JESS T. BUHLER’S GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY IS SUNDAY Mr. and Mrs. Jess T. Buhler, both formerly of Decatur, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary June 30. Mrs. Buhler is the former Ethel Pillars. They have one son. Dr. John E. Buhler, and two grandchildren. Dr. Buhler is dean at E. Mary University, Atlanta, Ga. Attending the Buhlers* June 30 celebration at 4910 Kingsley Drive, Indianapolis, will be Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schafer, Mrs. Irene Schafer, and Miss Vera Eady of Fort Wayne. PREBLE SUNNY CIRCLE CLUB MEETS SUNDAY Tuesday evening, the Preble recreation center was the scene of the Preble Sunny Circle home demonstration club. Mrs. William Kruetzman, chairman, called the meeting to order, after which Mrs. Elmer Peters read a poem in honor of fathers. Roll call was answered with “An outstanding memory
of. my father," history of the song of the month “Tell Me Why,” was given by Mrs. Milton Kruetzman and sung by the 22 member's present. - The following lessons and reports were given: health by Mrs. Orley Barkley; citizenship by Mrs. Dale Brandt; summer conference at Purdue by Mrs. Erwin Buuck, Mrs. Marvin Conrad and Mrs. Edwin Reifsteck. Mrs. Erwin Buuck, vicepresident, was in charge of the program planning session. Details of the home demonstration picnic at Berne park July 8 at 5 p.m. and the 4-H fair responsibilities were given by chairman. Attendance prizes were won by Mrs. William Werling and Mrs. Louis" Fuhrman. The next meeting will be held July 23. Devotions were given by Mrs. Elmer Peters: Refreshments were served by Mrs. Milion Kruetzman and Mrs. Peters. Adams county nurses will convene Thursday evening at 7 o’clock at Affolder Park, one-half mile east of Geneva. Each is to bring a covered dish and her own table service. Friday evening at 7:30 o'clock the Friendship circle of the Decatur Missionary church will meet at the home of "Mrs. Carl Lichtenberger. Baptist church Philo class will hold a party Friday at 7:30 p. m. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Baumgartner, 216 North Fourth street, will be host and hostess. Sunday the Zion Lutheran church picnic, at Fuelling grove, is scheduled from 3 to 7 p. m. Reunion of the Decatur Catholic high school class of 1952 w® be held at the Bluffton Conservation park Sunday, beginning at 12 noon. Class sponsor Sr. M. Agnes Therese will be unable to attend as she is now teaching in New York. Flo-Kan Sunshine girls will meet Monday evening at 6:30 at the K. of P. home. It is urgent that each member attend this called meeting. 1 Pythian Sisters degree staff will have practice at 7 p. m. Monday evening at the K. of P. home. Monday the Women’s Missionary Association of the Mount Zion United Brehtren church will be at 7:30 p. m. at the home of Mrs. Milton Chronister. The Adams county chorus will meet Monday evening for their regular rehearsal at Monroe. Mrs. Stuart Brightwell, the director, has asked the ladies to bring their f 955, 1956 and 1957 music.

Stolen Bicycle Is Recovered Today Ernie Sautbine, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Sautbine of 1131 West Jackson street, received a sleek black Schwinn bicycle, with all the trimmings, for his 12th birthday last week. Tuesday evening he rode his bicycle uptown and went to a movie. When he got out of the movie around 10:30, the new bicycle was missing. A stolen bicycle report was filed with city police, and around 12:30 o’clock this morning, the bike was recovered on the north s’de of Macklin’s garage.
