Hearing Custody Case At Portland Judge Myles F. Parrish, of the Adams circuit court, now in vacation, has been assuming jurisdiction of the Jay*circuit court at Portland, for the past two weeks. Appearing before the judge has been a change of custody case, Involving an 11-month-old child, born to a young couple who were divorced in March. At the time of the divorce, the 17-yea r-old mother was granted custody of the child, but later the 21-year-old father learned that, because she had no means of support, the motW* had given the child to a farm, couple to £are for while she finished high school. The grandfather of the infant, who is a prominent doctor, and nis wife, are backing their son in the change of custody, and have offered to rear ihe child until the mother is able to provide means for its care. Judge Parrish stated that a decision in the matter will be reached the early part of next week. If you have something to sell or rooms for rent, try a Democrat Want Ad, it brings results.
