Eisenhower, he said, "is very frank in his discussions.” Asked what the chief executive discussed so frankly today, Arends mentioned only the breeding of Black Angus cattle. The President planned two‘more official appointments in the morning, but skipped his usual Wednesday news conference to avoid making it too heavy a day. Takes Solid Food His doctors wers not ready to call his recovery "complete.” They expected it to be a day or two before his stomach returned to normal. But Eisenhower made substantial progress Tuesday. Increasing quantities of solid bland food were intorduced into his diet. He spent nearly tow hours at his desk working on mail and official papers. In addition to breakfasting the 40 House Republicans, first in a series of five House GOP delegations invited to the White House, Eisenhower also planned a farewell conference with Philip Young, former head of the Civil Service I Commission, who leaves shortly to take up his post as the new U.S. ambassador to The Netherlands. Security Meeting Scheduled Eisenhower also planned to devote a brief part of his morning in the office to chat with 20 mempLJms vatet’s ch_yx<&. oqngre-, Ration.
