Miss Fay Mcßride ’ Is Wed Saturday To Roger Koeneman Miss Fay Louise Mcßride, daughter of Mr. anci Mrs. Wilford Mcßride, of near Ossian, recited nuptial vows with Roger Koeneman, at 6:30 o’clock Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Koeneman, of route 2, Decatur, are parents of the bridegroom. The Zion Lutheran church of Friedheim was the scene of the wedding, which was solemnized by the Rev. A. A. Fenner. For her wedding, the bride was attired in a gown of lace over satin, and net over taffeta. The snugly fitted bodice of lace was styled with a Sabrina neckline, and tapered sleeves which came to points over her wrists. Alternating tiers of net over taffeta formed the bouffant skirt of the gown, and her fingertip veil was held in place by a scalloped coronet, outlined with pearls. She carried a white orchid. atop a white Bible. in a princess style gown of lilac spun taffeta, trimmed with orchid. She wore a matching colored headpiece and carried a bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums. The bridesmaids, Miss Gloria Koenemann, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Lois Mcßride, sister of the bride, find the junior bridesmaid, Miss Joyce Mcßride, sister of the bride, all wore identical princess style gowns of orchid spun taffeta, with lilac trim. They wore matching headpieces, and carried arrangements of yellow roses. Little Miss Clara Mcßride, sister of the bride, was flower girl, and carried a small colonial bouquet of chrysanthemums. Serving as best man was Noel Fenner .and ushers were Norman and Keith Mcßride, both brothers of the bride, and Max Miller, brother-in-law of the bride. A reception followed the ceremony, in the parish hall. Those serving at the reception were the MisseS Laura and> Patsy Mankey, of near Craigville, aunts of the bride; Miss Connie Dennis, of Fort Wayne; Miss Carolyn Huffman and Miss Winnie Mankey, near Decatur, all cousins of the bride. After a trip west, the couple will reside on route 3, Decatur. I LOCAL WOMEN ATTEND STATE CONVENTION Mrs. Glenn Hill, president of the Decatur Woman’s club, and Mrs. R. C. Hersh, state chairman for youth conservation, recently attended the three-day state convention of the Indiana Federation of Clubs, held in Indianapolis. One day of the state wide meeting was “Junior Women’s” day, with Mrs. Floyd Reed, president of the local Junior Women’s club, Mrs. David Embler, Jr., and Mis. Mrs. John . Morgan, and Mrs. Homer Hahn, and a candidate, Miss Weber. attended the convention. Mrs. Homer Hahn presided at the officer's chair of the inside guard at this meeting. Next meeting on the district’s calendar will be next September. SPRING INSTITUTE IS HELD BY W.C.T.U. The Spring institute of the Adams County Women’s Christian Temperance Union, was held recently at the Bethany Evangelical United Brethren church, 327 Winchester street. An organ prelude, by Mrs. Ivan Stucky, opened the meeting. The Rev. C. W. Wilson led the congregation in singing “Onward Christian Soldiers.” Devotions were given by Mrs. C. W. Wilson. Rev. Wilson, of the Antioch Church, accompanied by his wife, sang a special number. Mrs. D. C. Shary, county president, appointed committees and introduced guests. “The Stranger of Galilee” wassung by a trio from Monroe, Mrs. Myron Haggard, Mrs. James Nussbaum, and Mrs. Herb Fruchte, accompanied by Mrs. Russell Mitchell at the niano. Mrs. Mary E. Bly, state director of institutes, qf Winchester, was in charge of the officers* panel, "The Watchman Seeth." Speakers were Mrs. Shary, with “The Need of the Hour,” and Mrs. J. R. Gage, who is treasurer with “Reviewing Our Resources.” Topics for the departmental directors were as follows: spiritual life, “Not by Bread Alone,” by Mrs. Wilson; “Learn by doing,” by Mrs. Jesse Niblick; publicity “Information Please,” by Mrs. J. R. Gage; flower mission and relief, “A Cup of Cold Water,” by Mrs. Eli Luginbill; loyal temperance legion, “Seeing the Future,” by Mrs. Frank Bohnke; speech contest, “Words With a Message,” by Mrs. D. C. Shary. Two members of the Kirkland union, Mrs. Floyd Stoneburner and Mrs. John Mishler, presented a playlet, “It Fits Your Need.” Closing the morning session, the Rev. Benjamin Thomas u pastor of the Bethany church, gave the noontide prayer, after which a carryin dinner was served in the basement of the church. At 1:30 the afternoon session opened with an organ prelude by Mrs. Ivan Stucky. Led»by Rev. Wilson, the congregation sang “For He is so Precious to Me.” Rev. WQson then gave another special song. "It Took a Miracle.” Mrs. Floyd Morrison, devotional leader, chose I Corinthians, 1:2629, from which she took her theme, “Little Is Much if God Is in It.” Mrs. Mary Bly followed with the address, “Today Is Ours.” As a rewatd for having the largest delegation present, Mrs. Anna Sprunger, president of the Berne I'ninn, received gold plated W. C. T. U. pin. IWfW Mrs. Flossie Brandyberry of the Monroe Union spoke on drama and pageantry, “The World’s Stage.” A playlet, "A Jar of Mincemeat," was given by Mrs. Hattie Longerberger, Mrs. Ileene Borne, Mrs. Martha Essex, and Mrs. Wm. Butcher, all of Monroe. All joined in a friendship circle to sing “Blest Be the Tie that Binds,” to close the meeting, with prayer by Mrs. Mary Bly.

Circle One and Circle Four of the WSCS of the Methodist church in Decatur will have a breakfast at Mrs. Clyde Butler's at 9 o'clock Thursday morning. Zion Lutheran Needle club will hold its next meeting at 1 o’clock Thursday afternoon at the parish hall. Mr. and Mrs. James Thompson, of Pomona, Calif., became the parents of a baby boy at 6:20 p.m.. May 18. Named Jay Kenneth, their . son weighed six pounds, 11 ounces. Mrs. Thompson is the former Miss Nancy Krick. At the Adams county memorial hospital: Saturday, Frank and Mabel Reddy Voss of Geneva, became the parents of a seven pound, 11 ounce boy at 12:30 p.m. Manuel and Virginia Espinoza Gonzalez, of 710 Schirmeyer street, became the parents of a baby girl at 3:54 p.m. Saturday. Their daughter weighed seven pounds, nine and three-fourths ounces. Sunday, a seven pound, nine and one-half ounce son was born to Harold and Jean E. Manning Smith of Geneva, at 10:20 p.m. Kay and Florine Hirschy Ratcliff, of route 1, Monroe, became the parents of a baby boy at 5:55 a m. Sunday. He weighed eight pounds, two and one-half ounces. At 6:36 a.m. Sunday, a boy weighing seven pounds, one ounce, was born to Robert and Sandra Gase Butcher, of 1062 Russell Street. To Robert B. and Beverly J. Meese Barkley, route 2, Monroej ville, a son was born at 6:45 p.m. Sunday. He weighed seven pounds, two and three-fourths ounces. Paul and Dolor is M. Behr man Whittem of Monroeville, became ! the parents Sunday of a baby boy, . weighing eight pounds, two ounces, at 6:24 p.m. Preble Peppy Pals held their last meeting at the home of Mrs. A. A. Fenner. Mary Reifsteck opened the meeting, after which La Vera Witte and Mary Reifsteck led the pledges. Roll call was answered by the members’ favorite songs. Judy Conrad and Shirley Scheumann presented demonstration on a baked desert. Judy Conrad gave a talk on safety. James Hipkins, ifi a double-ring ceremony. Light green and yellow were the colors that formed the background for the wedding of the bride, daughter of Mrs. Thelma Bilderback, 633 North Tenth street, Decatur, and the bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hirschy, of rural route 2, Convoy, Ohio. Mrs. Ix>is Geisler, organist, and Miss Suzanne Kuhn, vocalist, presented a musicale, including “Indign Love Call.” "I Love You Truly,” “The Lord’s Prayer,” and “Whither Thou Goest.” Given in marriage by Eugene Hileman, her uncle, the bride was ’attired in a waltz length gown of chantilly lace. A Sabrina neckline topped the snug-fitting bodice. The long sleeves tapered to points over the hands, and dainty scallops at the hemline - highlighted the very bouffant skirt. She earned a bouquet of white roses with white streamers; a crown of seed pearls held the fingertip veil of silk illusion. A matching headband of lqce and flowers and a yellow bouquet with light green streamers completed the honor _ attendant’s ensemble. Wearing a dress identical in styling to the honor attendant’s, in light green, Mrs. Mary Knittie was the bridesmaid. Her headband was also like Miss King’s, and she carried a yellow bouquet with yellow streamers. Walter Hirschy and Paul Butler served as the bridegroom’s attedants, and Junior Ross and John Bilderback ushered. Mrs. Bilderback, mother of the bride, wore a navy suit with navy accessories, and a pink corsage. For her son’s wedding, Mrs. Hirschy chose a navy dress, also pink corsage. Decatur Hostess Os Welcome Wagon Attends Convention Mrs. Dan H. Tyndall, Decatur hostess for Welcome Wagon, Inc., has returned from a week’s training course in Chicago and the state convention of Welcome Wagon, Inc., held last week at Michigan City. It was the 10th annual state conclave and was attended by Welcome Wagon hostesses from all parts of the state. Headquarters were at the Hotel Spaulding in Michigan City. Several well known national and state figures in the public relations .field were on the program, which also included din* ners and refresher classes. It is Mrs. Tyndall’s local job to visit newcomers to Decatur and. also newly engaged couples and new mothers, and present gifts from local merchants, who are members of the organization. Next year will be the 30th year of. Welcome Wagon, and each year a healthy growth has been reported.
