MUSIC SECTION PRESENTS WOMAN’S CLUB PROGRAM Members of the Music' department of the Decatur Woman’s club presented the final program of the club year at ’ Monday evening’s general meeting, held at the Youth and Community center. Floral arrangements of white lilacs and pink tulips were used at various spots on the stage, and the table in front of'the stage fiad sirtiilar beauty vases of white lilacs, and then the white lilacs with pink tulips. Miss Helen Haubold was director of the fine musical program which featured choral numbers, solo and trio numbers, and iftstrumentals. Mrs. Edgar Gerber was the accompanist. The chorus, composed of all members of the Music section, opened the meeting with a musical arrangement of the club collect, followed by Mozart's “Alleluja.” With Mrs. Stuart Brightwell as the soloist, the chorus then presented three numbers. “Trees," by Rasbach. Mrs. Gerber rendered a piano solo, "Nocturne, ’’ by Grieg, followed by the chorus singing "Clouds,” by Ernest Charles, and "The Year’s At The Spring," by Noble Cain. Mrs. A.* Richard Kershner presented a delightful selection of vibraharp numbers, including "Csardas," and the always popular "The Bells of St. Mary’s,” by Adams. A vocal trio, composed of Mrs. Walter J. Krick, Mrs. Clyde Butler, and Mrs. William C. Feller, sang "On Wings of Song" by Mendelssohn, after whfch Mrs. William Gass presented a medley of popular favorites on the prgan. The singing of "Silent Strings," by Bantock, and “Let All My Life Be Music," by the entire chorus, closed the program. Mrs. Glenn Hill, Woman’s club president, conducted a brief business session at the close of the meeting. Mrs. Bernice Adams will be hostess to the Queen of the Rosary study club, Thursday evening at 8 o’clock. Members of the St. Jude study club will meet with Mrs. John Koors, Thursday evening at 8 o'clock. A business meeting of the D.A.V. auxiliary will be held Thursday evening at 7:30 o’clock, at the D.A.V. hall. There will be an election of officers for the coming year. Mrs. John Lengerich will entertain the members of the Our Lady of Lourdes study club, Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock. » Officers will be elected at the Thursday evening meeting of the Associated Churches of Decatur. Members of the Organization will meet at the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church that evening at 7:30. Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock, a general meeting of the Methodist W.S.C.S., will be held in the church chapel. A potluck mother and daughter’ banquet of the Calvary Evangelical United Brethren church will be held at the church Friday evening at 7 o'clock. Mrs. Cornelius Schirack will be hostess to the Queen of Peace study club. Thursday evening at 7:30 o'clock, W.S.W.S. unit 2, of the Bethany Evangelical United Brethren church, will meet with Mrs. Ivan Stucky, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. 4-H Band Parents Will Meet Fridqy An organizational meeting for parents of 4-H band members has been scheduled for Friday at 7:30 Pj, m. at the Monroe coop building. Last year’s band members and 4-H members interested in joining the band are invited to attend the meeting, which will be conducted by Mrs. Holman Egley, president of the organization. The meeting will feature election qf officers for the coming year. The schedule of rehearsals and playing dates for the band will be determined. The band will be directed by Darrell Gerig.
