MBS. BOY KALVER GIVES TALK TO WOMAN S CLUB Mrs. Roy Kalver presented an interesting talk on "Judaism” at the beginning of Monday evening's general meeting of the Decatur Woman's dub, which was held at the Decatur Youth and Community center. Mrs. Kalver explained the philosophy and ethics of her religion, stressing the great contributions that Judaism has given to the world. She emphatically told of the Judaism idea of peace on earth, good will toward man. Her talk was another in the series of talks bated oh the main religion of the world, which have been presented at each of the general meetings of the organization. A brief business session was conducted by Mrs, Glenn Hill, Woman’s dub president, after which she turned the meeting over to Mrs. Leo Curtin, chairman of the evening's program. SUNDAY BRIDE-ELECT IS HONORED AT SHOWER Miss Laura Witte, Sunday brideelect of Norbert Merkle, of Ohio City. 0., was recently the guest of honor at a- kitchen shower, given for her by Miss Ella Jean Hofmann. who was assisted by Mrs. Elsie Setting and Mrs. Louise Showalter. The dining room table was decorated with a white umbrella, trimmed with pink and blue, under which thy gifts were placed. A miniature briday couple was used as the main centerpiece. Games were played and prizes were won by Mrs. Laura Germa nn. Mrs. Dorothy Shaper, Mrs. Alice Custer, and Miss Lorena Witte, who in turn presented them to the honored guest. Mrs. Frances Monahan, president conducted the business session. at which time reports on the auxiliary's "adopted'' nurse and student nurse which the group sponsors, were given. Pinochle was played and prizes were awarded to Mrs. T. C. Smith, MrS. Adrian Baker, and Mrs. Dee Fryback. Refreshments were served by the hostess. Miss Mary Beth Tervecr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Terveer, fell while playing at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. B. T. Terveer, early Monday evening. A cut beneath her chin required five stitches. Mr. and Mrs. G. Remy Bierly have returned from a week's visit with relatives in Louisville and southern Indiana. April 17, G. Remy Bierly attended the eighth district meeting of a legal insitute at New Albany, sponsored by the state bar association. Miss Wilma Andrews visited Friday with her aunt, .Mrs. Celia Cater. Mrs. Clayton Hoover, of route 5, was admitted to the Van Wert. 0., county hospital over the weekend. Ell M. Dawaid, of Roann, father of. Earl E. Dawaid, Monmouth teacher, died recently at the age of 86. Funeral services was held a week ago. ,J Elmer Scott, 38, of Decatur, was fined $25 and costs in justice of the peace court in Van Wert, 0., for driving an overweight truck. A son, named John Frederick, was born Saturday at Bloomington to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Staley. Mr. and Mrs. James Staley, of Decatur, are the paternal grandparents of the infant, who weighed seven pounds and 12 ounces. At the Adams county memorial hospital: Robert Mark and Gladys Harvey Braden, of route 4, are parents of a seven pound, five ounce son, bom at 3:56 a.rir. today. Identical twin sons were born Monday to John and Alice Beineke Zinstmaster, of 204 Limberlost Trial.
