Report Missing Boy Tried To Buy Aulo Authorities Check Report In Chicago CHICAGO (W — Authorities t<>day checked a report that a teenage boy resembling the missing son of an Italian diplomat tried to buy a convertible Saturdays with a S2O down payment. Automobile salesman Pat Brock said he was "pretty sure” that the boy who entered the showroom was Vittorio Barattieri, 14, who has been missipg since last Tuesday morning. "He was with another boy,”

Brock told polfce. “After they’d left it occurred to me I had seen this one boy’s picture in the paper.” The auto salesman said the boy had offered a S2O down payment on a $2,000 convertible. Police maintained a watch at Roman Catholic churches on Chicago’s Near North Side in the hopes the boy might be found attending one of the churches in his home neighborhood. After attending church Sunday, Vittorio’s parents, Count and Countess Ludovico Barattieri di San Pietro, Italian, consul-general in Chicago, and their polio-crippled daughter, Monica, 7, returned home to maihtain a telephone vigil. “We’re hoping and praying,” the countess said, “but so far we’ve heard nothing.”

Eisenhower Leads Easter Obervance Biggest Parade Is Held In New York By UNITED PBEBS Millions of Americans led by President and Mrs. Eisenhower, attended Easter church services Sunday, and thousands of other persons worshipped out-of-doors at sunrise services.' Except for the Southwest, generally fair skies encouraged church attendance and added sparkle to the spring finery displayed in the traditional Easter parades.

Mt. and Mrs. Eisenhower attended Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church in Augusta, Ga., where the nation's first family is vacationing. They were accompanied by Treasury Secretary and Mrs. George M. Humphrey, weekend guests of the President. About 1,200,000 persons jammed New York’s Fifth Ave. from 49th to 59th streets in the nation's biggest East parade. Sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s attracted the huge throngs. About 350 policemen were on hand to keep order. Chilly readings in Chicago thinned the ranks of paraders on Michigan Ave. and in some other cities, notably in the Southwest, an unmbrella was a necessary-ac-cessory to Easter outfits. The first sunrise service was atop Cadillac Mountain near Bar Harbor, Maine, where the sun’s rays first touch the nation. Several hundred persons attended the service, sponsored by the Pilgrim Fellowship of the Bar Harbo Congregational Church. A downpour near Lawton, Okla., cut attendance at the Wichita Mountains Easter pageant. Creeks and streams overflowed their banks and flooded parking areas for the program. Cow, Killed, Truck Is Badly Damaged A Black Angus cow owned by Gerald Strickler, of Decatur route four, caused SSOO damage to a truck at 3:15 a. m. today in an accident on U. S. highway 27 about a mile and a half south of Decatur, .i. - — The truck, driven by Kenneth Krowl of Whitehall, Mich., hit the cow as the animal crossed the road. The impact did extensive damage to the front of the truck cab and killed the cow. Another accident which occurred Sunday at 5:30 p. m. on U. S. highway 224 about two miles east of Decatur was reported to the sheriff’s department. In involved vehicles driven by Harley Eli Pratt, 46. of Fort Wayne, and Jack Holthouse of Decatur route five. The two vehicles collided while Holthouse was in the process of passing the Pratt car. Damage was minor.
