To Explain Virtues Os Auto Wrecking Four Boys Banned from Senior Tour GOSHEN, Ind. W -Four Goshen high school boys banned from going on their senior class’ trip to Washington, p. C„ for what they considered a matter of pri* vate enterprise, have drawn up ai petition explaining the virtues of car wrecking. Seniors Rex Rhinehart, Larry Miller, Donald Eckelbarger and Donald Goss planned to go before the school board Monday night to defend their unusual means of raising money for the class trip to the nation's capital. The boys raised $43.50 out of a venture that began last Saturday whep Miller’s father turned his “beat-up” old Chrysler coupe to them—after he had taken the motor out. The youths, moved the car to a gas station driveway and offered passersby with' pent up frustrations two whacks at it with a sledge hammer for 25 cents. After adding up their quarters the boys sold the car. to a local junk dealer for $lO. All they wanted to do with the money, they said, was to turn it over to their class to heir finance the trip May 17-21. But Principal Thomas Storr objected. He said he had warned the boys Friday they would be forbidden to make the trip with the rest of their class if they went ahead with their money-making scheme. Starr said the students had been considering the project tor some time but that it had not been approved by the school board during a special committee hearing on its merits. “Either we follow procedure, or we don’t,” Starr said. One-Day Strike At Chrysler Is Ended DETROIT (UP) - Production was back to normal today at the Chrysler Corp. Kercheval and Jefferson plants which were idled for one day in a layoff dispute. It said “good news” will be announced shortly about the U.S.Egyptian negotiations on the Suez Canal. The agency, quoting “responsible diplomatic sources,” said the optimistic outlook was responsible for tiie American decision not to take the Suez Canal issue back to the U.N. Security Council. It said another reason was because several countries have refused to join the United States in Security Council action. Trade in a good town — uecatur

Italian Consul's Son Is Missing Search Is Extended To Southern States CHICAGO (UP)—The search for the missing son of Italy’s consulgeneral in Chicago turned to the southern states today when a taxi cab driver told police he took the youth to the airport the night he disappeared. The unidentified cab driver said he took a boy answering the description of the missing 14-year old youth \o ’■ a railroad station first, where he tried to buy a ticket for Miami, Fla., Tuesday night. The railroad agent refused to sell the boy a ticket without his parent’s approval, so the boy reentered the taxi and went to Midway Airport where he paid the $3.70 fare, gave the driver a $2 tip, and disappeared. Police sent a squad of detectives to the airport in an effort to determine if the boy was successful in obtaining a plane ticket for Miami. The boy’s parents said that although they have received no ransom notes or threats, they still believe their son was kidnaped. The Count and Countess Ludovico Barattieri Di san Pietro appealed on television and in newspapers Tuesday night for the return of their son, Vittorio. Barattieri also asked the Fedral Bureau of Investigation to enter the case, declaring he was certain the boy had been abducted “in view of the wave of sex crimes in Chicago.” ~ " The boy was last seen Tuesday morning when he left home to attend classes at Loyola High School. He never arrived. UNION (Cootteoe* fr>» rwue O—> Wednesday. The "committee hoped to wind up the Scranton case with their testimony. Committee counsel Robert F. Kennedy told newsmen the committee had no plans to question public officials from the Scranton area about testimony at Tuesday's hearing. This included charges that police protection was lacking in the face of union violence. • Scranton Mayor James T. Hanlon submitted an affidavit denying earlier testimony of ex-boxer Paul Bradshaw, sometime Teamster muscle man, who qlaimed the mayor once asked him to “lay off” spilling the story of the house dynamiting until after a 1955 city election. The committee asked the Justice Department to seek a perjury indictment in connection with conflicting testimony of Joseph Bartell, president of the Scranton Building Trades Council, and other witnesses. Bartell, business agent of Local 261 of the Carpenters Union, denied Bradshaw’s charge that Bartell ordered the non-union-built house damaged. He swore he was innocent of the conspiracy charge of which he was convicted. Trade in a eood town — Decatur
