Central Soya Plans Career Conference College Students To Conference Saturday Men and women college students from the greater Fort Wayne area attending more than 40 midwestern and universities are-being invited to attend an April 20 opportunity conference sponsored by Central Soya company. As a special service to students attending the conference, an employment office will be set up for those who wish to make application for part-time summer work in the Fort Wayne industrial area. A directory of the students available for summer employment will be distributed to all Fort Wayne businesses immediately following the conference. In announcing the coming session on careers in industry, Paul E. Hensel, vice president of personnel, said: “We expect to have a large number of college men and women in attendance. Thirty colleges and universities were represented in the last conference we sponsored.” The conference will be held Saturday morning in the Van Orman Hotel, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Featured speaker for the occasion will be Dr. Glenn Cunningham, the "Kansas Miler," who now devotes a major portion of his time to addressing and counseling young men and women. His subject will be “Opportunity Knocks.” Refreshments and a short discussion period will precede the program. Ministry Student At Lutheran Church Vernon Wiebe, student of theology at Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary, St. Louis, Mo., will preadh the sermon at the Maundy Thursday evening service at Lutheran church. West Monroe and Eleventh streets. The sacrament of holy communion will be celebrated at the service and Wiebe will speak on the toplcr“A two-fold communion through Christ,” I Corinthians 10, 16 and 17. The Rev. Edgar P. Schmidt, pastor of the church, will serve as liturgist of the service and officiant at the sacrament. He will be assisted by Wiebe in the distribution of the sacrament, and by deacons Arnold Ostermeyer and Robert Zwick in preparing the vessels. The church altar, which has been garbed in the traditional violet color during the penitential son of Lent, will be vested in white at the Maundy Thursday communion vesper in commemoration of the historical celebration of the first communion when Jesus Christ instituted it Girl Scout News Brownie Troop No. 7 met Tuesday after school. We opened the meeting with the Brownie promise and then elected new officers. They are Jayne Beal, president; Donna Zehr, treasurer, and Bonita Alberding, scribe. Roll was called and dues were collected. We made Easter baskets and filled , them with chocolate and marshmallow bunnies and candy Easter eggs. We then had a surprise birthday party for Mrs. Wilbur Reynolds. Next week we will meet on Wednesday because of Easter vacation. Bonita Alberding, scribe Xi

Doc's Car Dock Is Robbed Last Night The Sheriff's office reported today that Doc’s Car Dock, operated by Mr. and Mrs. Everett Hutker, was entered last night and approximately S3O in change stolen.' Entry was made through the s same window and in similar fashi ion to previous robberies at the a place.
