Over 200 Electronic Technicians Sought The third regional office of the Aeronautics admission at Kansas City Mo., has announced that it plans to employ more than 200 electronic technicians in this region from a new civil service exmination it has released today. Rapid increase in aid traffic in the jet age requiring: nation-wide radar control and new electronic air navigation equipment are the reasons given by CAA for the increase in employment. CAA is engaged in a multi-million dollar expansion of its air navigation system to meet increasing military and civilian demands. Requirements have been broadened for technicians under the new examination to allow technical school graduates and technicians with TV repair experience to qualify for employment. Individuals with radar installation and maintentarfee experience are particularly needed. Entrance salaries for electronic technicians rangs from $3670 to $5440 a year depending on the applicants previous experience. Monthly Report On Savings Bond Sales Sales of U. S. savings bonds of the “E" series continue to show gains in Indiana but the series “H” bonds are selling far below last year, according to a report on January sales made to T, F. Graliker, chairman of the Adams county U. S. savings bonds committee. Although “E” bond sales in Indiana for the month showed a gain of $327,032 over January a year ago, there was an over-all drop in sales of 11.3 percent as compared with a reduction in national sales of 19 percent Total sales for the state last month were $14,752,458 coinpared with $16,627,916 fo’’ the like period of 1956. The combined Series “E” and "H” ''.ales tor this county during January were $77,458.84 and $119,245.56 a year ago. Thirty-three Indiana counties reported sales gains for the month over last year.
