MR. AND MRS. DAVID E.’ BROWN, of route 3, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Sondra L., to Chajles Allen Lehman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Lehman, of Bellmont Road. Miss Brown is a graduate of Monmouth high school, and is employed in the offices of the Central Soya company, in Decatur. Hospital Visitors Ban Is Continued The ban, limiting visitors at the Adams county memorial hospital, is still in effect, according to an announcement made today by Thurman Drew, hospital administrator. Drew requested that only members of the immediate families visit the patients since the hospital is overcrowded.

RAYMOND EICHENAUERS ARE ELECTED TO OFFICE Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Eichenauer were elected worthy patron and worthy matron, respectively, of the Decatur chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, number 127, at a meeting held recently at the Masonic hall. RANDY LEE GEHRIG IS HONORED AT PARTY Randy Lee Gehrig, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Gehrig, was guest of honor at a birthday party in his honor, Saturday afternoon at the horn of his parents. Randy will celebrate his fourth birthday anniversary. Tuesday. / Party hats and horns were distributed to the guests, and various games and contests were enjoyed, with prizes awarded to the winners. Colored pictures were taken of the group, after which the guests joined together to sing “Happy Birthday” to the guest of honor. Refreshments were served to Mr. and Mrs. T. H. PROGRESSIVE DINNER IS HELD BY BUILDERS CLASS Thirty-eight members of the Builders class of the First Methodist church participated in a “progressive dinner” Friday evening. The group met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Soldner, where appetizers were served. Assisting the Soldners were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Childs and Mr. and Mrs. John Ebersole. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Babcock were host and hostess for the serving of the salad course. They were assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Baumgartner and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Stetler. Dinner was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Collier, with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lehman, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Chew, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Young, and Dr. and Mrs. James Allen assisting. For dessert, the group proceeded to the home of the Rev. and Mrs. Virgil Sexton, who were assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Jay Markley, Mr. and Mrs. C. I. Finlayson, and Mrs. Norma Feasel. A business meeting followed, with Charles Chew being elected president of the class. Other officers include John Heffner, vicepresident; Mrs. Norma Feasel, secretary, and William Brown, treasurer. The class decided to sponsor a family night skating party, March 8. after which the meeting was adjourned with prayer. MRS. DORTHEA SHADY IS HOSTESS TO W.C.T.U. MEETING Mrs. Dorthea Shary was recently hostess to a meeting of the Kirkland W.C.T.U. The meeting was opened by the group singing “Throw Out the Life-Line,” and “We Will Work ’till Jesus Comes.” Following devotions and prayer, Mrs. Boyd Stoneburner gave a reading of the life of Frances Willard. Huntington Hospital Heads Visit Here Four members of the Huntington county hospital board, and Che hospital administrator, conferred with local hospital authorities Friday and tourned the Adams county memorial hospital. The Huntington group stated that they planned an addition to their hospital and were gathering information on the procedure necessary to launch the project. Thurman I. Two Young Germans To Work In Berne Train In Auspices Os Mennonite Group Two more young West Germans, training under Hie auspices of the Mennonite central committee, have arrived in Berne for six months of work. The two young people are part of the group which includes Andre Wenger, who spent the last six months working at the First Bank of Berne, and is now at Souderton, Pa. The two are Miss Erika Friesen, 19, of Neustadt, Germany, who will stay in the Howard Baumgartner home, and Peter Sawatzky, 20, of near Hannover, Germany, who will stay with the August Nagels. Miss Friesen was employed in secretarial work before coming to the states. Her parents are deceased and she lived with an abnt. She spent the past six months at Akron, Pa., where she was employed at the headquarters of the Mennonite central committee, doing housework. While in Berne, Miss Friesen will do housework in the Baumgartner home. Sawatzky is a native of the Ukraine. When he was m years old h’s father was seized by the Reds and sent to Siberia.
