An all day meeting of the Union Chapel Ladies Aid is planned for this Thursday in the church basement. The bake sale being sponsored by the Ruth and Naomi circle of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church this Saturday, will be conducted in the Mutschler building on North Second Street, instead of the church basement, as was previously announced. The sale will begin at 9 a.m., and will feature a large ‘ assortment of baked goods, home made noodle soup, and potato salad. Driver Fined For Improper Passing Bill ’ Vanover, 27, of Wren, 0., was fined $1 and costs in justice of the peace court Saturday on a charge of improper passing after he was arrested following an accidents. The accident occurred Saturday at 12:45 p.m. on U.- S. highway 224 five miles east of Decatur. The Vanover car sideswiped a pickup truck driven by Arnold Thieme, 36, of Decatur route five, who was attempting a left turn onto a county road. The two vehiches sideswided, causing a total of S4OO damage. Patrick Vanover, 15, and Dean Vanover, 18, brothers of Bill Vanover and passengers in his car, sustained minor cuts and bruises. They were treated at the Adams county memorial hospital and released. Sheriff Merte Affolder and state trooper Gene Rash investigated the accident. 'V

Former Decatur Lady Dies At Union City Mrs. Lila Meyers, 85. daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. W. H. Schrock of Decatur, and widow of Dr. George H, Myers, Methodist minister, died Sunday afternoon in a hospital at Union City. She had been in failing health several months. Mrs. Myefs was born in Decatur, and was preceded in death by her brother, the late William P. Schrqck. She was the first English teacher in the Berne high school Her husband served pastores in many Indiana communities before retiring in 1941. Surviving Mrs. Myers are two daughters, -Mrs. Donald Turner, Union City, and Mrs. Jesse Allen, Altoona, Fla., and two grandsons. One brother, Dr. Robert Schrock, Omaha, Neb. also survives. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Methodist church in Union City, with burial in Union City cemetery. At the Adams county memorial hospital: Ronald and Marjorie Wilson Fifer, of 428 South First street, are parents of an eight pound, 10-ounce son. born Saturday evening at 8:10 ' o’clock. An eight pound, U-ounce son was bom Sunday at 4:50 p.m., to James and Gladys Dulin Bauman, of Pleasant Mills. COURT NEWS Marriage License Byron E. Oyler, 30, Marion, and June Bigham, 33, Marion. Tom Imel, of Decatur, was fined $25 and costs by Squire Walter Emans of Van Wert, 0., for driving an overloaded truck Thursday. He was arrested by the Ohio state police. Charles Kolp, of Van Wert, 0., has been named persinnel chief of the Ohio department of highways. Miss Dorothy Laßue, proprietor of the Laßue Shop in Geneva has been a patient in the Adams county memorial hospital for a week after she broke two bones in her left leg. Miss Laßue slipped on an icy sidewalk about 9 p.m. last Monday. Timmie Booher, 6-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Booher, of Geneva, suffered severe bites on his face and head from one of the family dogs last Wednesday. The family physician took ten stiches to close the wounds.
