Marketing Clinic At Purdue February 6 A one-day marketing clinic for farm owners or managers will be held at Purdue University February 6, at the Memorial Union building. Registration will start at 9 a.m., and the first session will meet at 9:45 o’clock to discuss expanding markets. The luncheon meeting will include a talk on what has been done to expand markets for California products by W. J. Kuhrt, chief, envision of marketing, California department of agriculture, Sacramento, Calif. I In the afternoon at 2 p.m. the general session will break down into various commodity groups, such as poultry, dairy, grain, livestock, and meat. This new short bourse is available because Industry members have expressed a need for such a clinic. Further Information may be obtained from the county agent’s office. New Corn Acreage Allotment For 1957 Any producer who intends to plant corn in 1957 on a farm where there was no corn acreage during the years 1954, 1955, or 1956 must apply for a corn acreage allotment if he wants to participate in any phase of the soil bank program in 1957, Oscar T. Brown, chairman of the county agricultural stabiliz.ation and conservation committee, ' Said" today. Marketing quotas do not apply to corn, the chairman explained., HOWewr, under the present program, the production of corn in 1957 on a farm which has no corn acreage allocation would make the corn produced on such farm ineligible for the maximum price support in 1957 as well as affect his participation in the soil bank program. Application forms for a corn acreage allotment are available at the county ASC office. January 31 is the last day such applications may be filled.
