Three Injured When Gas Truck Explodes Three Indianapolis Men Are Injured CLERMONT. Ind. - Three Indianapolis men were injured, none seriously, late Wednesday When a gasoline truck Hew up at the Sinclair Refinery Co. Hospitalized with bums and minor Injuries were Claude H. Adair, 37; Waldo Clark, 24; and Windford Saylor, 30, driver of the truck.! Adair told authorities he was inside the station talking with Saylor while Clark filled the truck. He said they noticed gasoline spilling over onto the pavement. Flames shot up immediately. Adair said be and Saylor began running away from the area and Were knocked down a few minutes later when the truck exploded. The town marshal found Clark in a dazed condition and took him to a hospital for treatment. This led to an erroneous report that he was missing and presured dead. Adair and Saylor also were picked up by toanspeojfle and taken to hospitals for treatment. Early reports also listed them as killed in the blast. T' .SES About 25 state police troopers were rushed to the area and the Marion County sheriff’s office dispatched every available man in anticipation of another explosion. They said everything was under control shortly after they arrived. Cause of the explosion was not immediately known. Some other early morning readings around the nation included Boston 16, Washington l**/st. Louis 10, Minneapolis 2, Bismarck. N. 8., 17, New Orleans 32, Denver 19, Seattle 31 and Los Angeles 55. Two Too Many PROVO, Utah - Wl — Gerald J. Mauck accidentally shot himself in the hip with a .22 caliber pistol in 1951, Mauck was back in the hospital again recently because, while showing the weapon to a friend's daughter, it went off again, wounding him in the leg.
