LEHMAN of route 3, have announced" the engagement ,of their eldest daughter, Cynthia Ann, to Arlen Roy Mitchel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russel Mitchel of near Monroe. Miss Lehman is a senior at Adams Central. A graduate of Adams Central, her fiance is an employe of the Berne Furniture company. No date has been set for the wedding. .

Bollinger of Decatur. The baby has been named Mary Jane. At the Adams county memorial hospital: A seven pound, three ounce daughter was born Tuesday at 12:30 p. m. to Donald and Rose Weisman Caffee of Willshire, O. Amos R. and Mary Ann Schwartz of route 1, Monroe, are the parents of a nine pound, one and a half ounce son, born today at 12:06 a. m. At 4:28 a. m. today, a baby girl, weighing seven pounds and 12 ounces, born to Joseph and Shirley Liechty < Lehman oLßerne. PYTHIAN SUNSHINE GIRLS HAVE INSTALLATION RITES New officers of the Pythian Sunshine Girls were installed in an impressive ceremony at the K. of P. home last Sunday afternoon. Miss Mara Dee Striker was the in- , stalling officer, and she was assisted by several of tjie Sunshine Girls counsellors. Miss Emily Swearingen -da the junior past royal princess, and Miss Judy Rhodes was installed as the new royal princess. Ina Miller gave an interesting paper on “Andersonville Prison,” after which the hostess served refreshments to 14 members. Mrs. W. A pot luck dinner will be served at 12:30 o’clock, with the meeting to follow at 2 p.m. A panel discussion on “horse sense” will follow, and various films and pictures will be shown. Anyone interested in becoming a member of this organization is invited to attend this first meeting of the New Year. , The English mastiff is believed to be a direct descendant of an ancient Asian dog often depicted on Greek, Assyrian, Babylonian, and Egyptian artifacts, the Na- | tional Geographic Society says. Miss Ann Ehinger Married Recently To James Seigel Poinsettia plants and other Christmas decorations adorned the altar of St Mary’s Catholic church for the recent marriage of Miss Ann Catherine Ehinger and James Leßoy Seigel. The ReV. Vincent X. Ehinger, uncle of the*bride, performed the double ring ceremony, Saturday, December 29, at 10 o'clock in the morning. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mrs. Jewel Ehinger of 329 Line street, and tip bridegroom is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Seigel, Sr., of 119 East Madison street in Auburn. Given in marriage by her brother, Lawrence E. Ehinger, the bride wore a floor length gown of white slipper satin. The snugly fitted bodice was designed with a scoop neckline, and long tappered sleeves coming to points over her wrists. Panels of chantilly lace highlighted her bouffant skirt, and the back of her gown ended in a full-length train. A crown studded with pearls held her fingertip veil of imported illusion, and she carried an arrangement of white pompoms, centered with a white orchid. - Miss Mary Byer attended as maid-of-honor in a mint green ballerina length gown of silk and lace. bouquet of pink carnations. Serving his brother as best man was Robert Seigel, and ushers were Richard Seigel and Herman Seigel, Jr., both brothers of the bridegroom. Mrs. Ehinger attended her daughter’s wedding in a navy blue nylon dress, with which she wore black accessories. The bridegroom's mother was attired in a copen blue dress with black and white accessories. Both mothers wore corsages of pink carnations. A wedding dinner was served to 25 guests, at the home of the bride's mother. The reception followed at the American Legion home. Servers included Miss Norma O'Hearn, Miss Phyllis Zollinger of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Richard Seigel and Mrs. Herman Seigel, Jr., of Auburn. When the couple left for a one-week wedding trip to Florida, the new Mrs. Seigel was wearing an orchid colored suit with a beige coat and other beige accessories. A graduate of Decatur Catholic high school and International col--1 lege in Fort Wayne, Mrs. Seigel is employed in the Fort Wayne 1 office of the Central Soya com- ’ pany. Her husband graduated ’ from Auburn high school and also > International College. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Edwards and Steve spent, the* holidays (with Mr. and Mrs. Philip J. Schmith at Tipton. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Crider and family at Park Forest, 111., and were accompanied back to Decatur by Debby and Andie Crider, who have since returned home. Returns To Base Pvt.
